Café Ilang-Ilang awaits your exuberant return

No secret to anyone with a penchant for exquisite buffets in the metro or to loyal patrons of The Manila Hotel, the equally cherished and long-standing Café Ilang-Ilang is a trustworthy favourite for sumptuous, world-class fare. Whether it’s the freshly carved lechon and US Beef Roast or the decadent array of seafood that keeps guests coming back, the dining outlet named after the aromatic native flower truly calls out like a scent one can’t get enough of.

Welcoming diners with smiles and warm greetings of “Mabuhay!” upon entry, Café Ilang-Ilang then invites diners to meet their match across a plethora of cuisine stations, such as Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and Filipino. The buffet restaurant also hosts one of the few Halal-certified kitchens in Manila and showcases its own tandoor oven to boot.

The finest lobsters, shrimps, and crabs all show up on the spread on certain days, but even more so on the raved Friday Seafood Night at the outlet. At the grill station, Café Ilang-Ilang’s seasoned chefs flame-cook platters of churrasco, sausages, and other divine meats at the request of avid diners.

In between each lavish plateful, the buffet’s vast selections of salads, freshly baked bread, cheeses, and cold cuts are not to be missed as well. To cap it all off, guests are treated to their choice of artisanal ice cream, cakes, freshly made crepes, fruits, and local favourites like halo-halo, bibingka, and puto bumbong.

Adapting to the times, Café Ilang-Ilang has forgone self-service and now operates as a serviced buffet. At every visit, guests can expect to have their chosen dishes plated by the chefs and served from behind sanitised glass enclosures. As an air-conditioned indoor restaurant, it also undergoes daily UV sanitation and benefits from fresh air dampers and micro filters to circulate air from outside into the restaurant, as well as UV air filtration systems for better air quality.

Perfect for anyone dining in a group or hosting intimate lunch or dinner gatherings, Café Ilang-Ilang also has several private rooms that may be booked exclusively. One of which is The Atrium, a well-lit and airy section that magnificently overlooks the poolside for lovely sights that round out the enchanting dining experience.

In many ways a proud reflection of the country’s rich cuisine, culture, and hospitality, Café Ilang-Ilang is simply ready and eager as ever to welcome patrons back with comforting arms.
