This patisserie, salon de thé and restaurant concept by chef-owner Pang Kok Keong is housed in the space previously occupied by Heart Bistro. The place is divided into a main dining area fashioned after Versaille's garden although the décor seems a little over the top with its take topiaries and vines, and a gazebo adorning the centre of the space and flanked by more fake plants; an inner room with faux antique tin ceiling and vintage daybeds; plus a private dining room with a gigantic chandelier.

Although the chef is most known for his cakes and pastries, there is also a range of savoury dishes to be had. The robust French onion soup here brims with sweet caramelised onions in a rich chicken and veal broth. A slice of cheesy baguette is dunked into the soup and the bowl is topped with a lacy parmesan and gruyere cheese crust. For something lighter, opt for the tartine de nicoise, a refreshing combination of lettuce, French beans, tomatoes, olives, anchovies, a slightly wobbly ‘three-minute' egg, and seared tuna served atop a slice of levain. For mains, tuck into the traditional French-style pork belly confit which has been cured in a mixture of sea salt, brown sugar and spices, then cooked in duck fat at 90 deg C for 12 hours. The super tender meat with crackling skin is served with garlic mash, seasonal vegetables and a piquant mustard sauce that cuts the richness nicely.  The prawn crumble spaghettini is done aglio olio style - pasta is tossed with prawns, parsley pesto and salty ‘crumble' made with homemade bread, kalamata olives and Spanish anchovies tapenade.

The star of Antoinette however, is its dessert list. Look out for the counter display filled with sweet gems. Try the Kyoto, made of green tea mascarpone mousse, chestnut cremeux, almond crumble, green tea finger sponge or the Forbidden Fruit - delicate layers of granny smith apple mouse, vanilla caramel, green apple jelly and a cample cremeur on a financier cake. Or pick one of the multi-coloured macarons to munch.

The refreshed menu also includes all-day breakfast sets, hearty blinis, crepes, plus sandwiches and burgers made with artisanal breads. A pleasant spot for a pit-stop in between shopping.
