“We believe that good design goes beyond creating the most aesthetically pleasing spaces or presenting solutions that solve the most complex issues,” declares Summerhaus D’zign managing partner and co-founder Larry Lim. “Good design is the result of synergy when great aesthetics marry smart functionalities.”
This two-pronged approach has served the boutique interior practice well, aiding it in its quest to design eminently elegant and liveable homes inspired by their owners’ lifestyles and personalities. Founded by Lim and his wife, Jess Koh, in 2012, the multi-award-winning firm has worked on homes in some of the most exclusive addresses in Singapore, such as The Grange, Reflections at Keppel Bay, Lincoln Suites and The Tessarina, as well as numerous landed properties throughout Singapore.
A bespoke uniqueness and a sense of timelessness characterise the homes the design firm has worked on, eschewing a blind subservience to trends and fads for truly tailored solutions. With its credo of “Bespoke Solutions, Novelty Designs” guiding its work, the firm takes pains to craft thoughtful interiors that bear the unique identities of its occupants for each abode. “It simply makes one want to be there, stay there and feel good there,” says Lim, who used to work as a banker before the allure of “seeing beautiful things” and “creating something out of nothing” led him to establish Summerhaus D’zign.
“Ultimately, the most meaningful thing about being an interior designer is knowing at the back of our minds that we are creating a space for our clients in which many beautiful new memories for the family will be born,” he concludes emphatically.
