Where in Malaysia to find beautiful Tecoma trees in 2021 as our very own 'sakura season' takes bloom

Similar to the sakura blossoms of Japan, Tecoma trees in Malaysia bloom in the pink or white varieties. These delicate blooms resemble little trumpets, with soft tissue paper-like petals that have earned it the nickname of 'tissue paper tree'. From February to March, these trees bloom their fullest in dry seasons that follow spells of heavy rain, drawing admiration from onlookers and Instagrammers looking to pepper their feeds with sakura snapshots. Even if you can't catch the famed sakura blossoms in Japan, Taiwan or South Korea this year, consider instead a visit to these quaint locations in Malaysia, from Penang to Kedah.
