2. Miss Julie by Singapore Repertory Theatre
What: Transforming the scene from Midsummer’s Eve in 19th century Sweden to Chinese New Year in post-war Singapore, explore the politically-charges, localised version of the play Miss Julie, originally by August Strindberg, adapted by playwright Amy Ng. Hang on tight as you explore themes of race and class distinctions, sexual power plays and more in this startlingly provocative play held at the KC Arts Centre, co-produced by Singapore Repertory Theatre and Hong Kong Arts Festival.

Enjoy the festive displays of new year prints, or Nian Hua, at a special installation by Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall (SYSNMH). In collaboration with Hong Kong artist Ng Tik Ka (Tik Ka From East), the installation showcases his signature style of reimagining and depicting familiar pop culture figures in the traditional style of new year prints. Expect family-friendly feasts for the senses with the customary lion dance, followed by festive drumming workshops, a heritage trail through Balestier and guided tours—your little ones will also be busy making lanterns and other crafts.

What: Set in an ethereal set recreating the streets of Paris, French jewellery brand Van Cleef & Arpels will be holding an immersive watchmaking exhibition at the Sands Expo Hall at the Marina Bay Sands.
