The Navy has finally heard pop superstar Rihanna sing again!

After her years-long hiatus from music, Rihanna finally makes a powerful return with Lift Me Up, an original soundtrack for the upcoming Marvel movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The release of the song was announced earlier this week after a series of cryptic billboards appeared around New York. Teasers were also being spread across social media which included the forthcoming title appearing on screen.

According to sources, "Lift Me Up" was written as a tribute to the late Black Panther lead Chadwick Boseman, who passed away due to colon cancer in 2020.

“I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life," says Tems, co-writer of the music. "I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them. Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honour.”
