Looking ahead to the new year? Here, we found the best New Year’s Eve parties in Hong Kong so that you’ll be able to ring in 2022 in style

With just over two weeks until 2022 arrives, it’s time to start thinking about where you’ll be celebrating New Year’s Eve. NYE parties are back in full force this year, and it's time to make up for all the celebrations we missed in 2020. From a free-flow James Bond-themed party at Foxglove, to an NYE cruise with AquaLuna, and even a glamourous red-carpet event at Candour, here are the best New Year’s Eve parties in Hong Kong this year.

1. The Candour Gala at Candour

Price: HK$1,188 on or before the 23rd, HK$1,288 for late bird

Dress Code: Red-carpet ready

When: 9pm onwards

What: Candour, a.k.a Peel Street’s hottest bar opening of 2021, will be celebrating NYE in style with the Candour Gala. Inviting you to put on your finest diamonds and best swag, you’ll be swigging down free-flow glasses of Moët, house wine and spirits while the DJ pumps up the floor with dancing beats all night. The bar will also be hosting a separate three-course dinner from 6 to 9pm for HK$498. Dinner guests who choose to stay for the party afterwards can add on an additional HK$688.

2. Countdown in Nocturnland at Ocean Park

Price: HK$899, HK$1,199 for VIP

Dress Code: None

When: 8:30pm onwards

What: Ocean Park will be hosting Countdown in Nocturnland—the city’s first outdoor music festival since 2019 this New Year’s Eve. Organised in collaboration with the team behind Creamfields Hong Kong, the event’s lineup includes DJ brother duo, Bernie and Johan Yan of BEAUZ; Pink Panda, a DJ collective originating from the UK; as well as local talents including YÅKO, YETI & FRIENDS, WONTON BASS. 

VIP tickets are available and will give you access to designated check-in lanes, cloakroom, bar, and fast lane for amusement rides.

3. Drag Bingo & Disco at The Quality Goods Club

Price: Free for walk-in guests

Dress Code: Shiny, happy penny

When: 10:30pm to 4am

What: Quality Goods Club will be throwing a drag bingo show and disco night from 10:30 till the early morning of the new year. With guaranteed feel-good beats all night long, put on your dancing shoes for a night of disco and plenty of cocktails to go around.

4. No Time To Die at Foxglove

Price: HK$1,000

Dress Code: Black tie and gold

When: 10pm onwards 

What: Calling all James Bond enthusiasts—Foxglove will be hosting a New Year’s party under the theme “No Time To Die”, named after the Bond film that was in cinemas earlier this summer. The party begins at 10pm and includes free-flow Moët et Chandon champagne, beers and martinis for three hours. Come in your best tux, or turn up in beautiful shimmers of gold. If you’re looking for all night long entertainment, the restaurant will also be throwing a lively Chinese set dinner beforehand.

5. New Year’s Eve at Potato Head

Price: HK$800

Dress Code: None

When: 8:30pm to 12am

What: Sai Ying Pun’s favourite Indonesian cocktail lounge and restaurant will be ringing in the new year with a three-hour free-flow champagne and beverage package. Four DJs will be turning up the music on the night, including Roy Malig, Johnny Hiller, Bad Times Disco and Lil’ John.

6. Grand Bao at Duddell’s

Price: HK$450 online, HK$600 at the door

Dress Code: James Bond

When: 8:30pm to 2am

What: Wind back in time to 1971—the last red carpet of Sean Connery’s James Bond 50 years ago. Put on your smartest outfit, and channel your inner James Bond at Duddell’s New Year’s Eve party. While free-flow is not available here, all tickets include one glass of Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs champagne.

7. Countdown Cruise at Aqualuna

Price: HK$1,288 for adults, HK$788 for kids aged 4 to 11

Dress Code: Nil

When: 10pm to 12:30am

What: AquaLuna will be setting sail this New Year’s Eve, giving you a chance to start the year while overlooking Hong Kong’s sparkling waters. Embarking from North Point Public Pier, the cruise includes two glasses of alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages, alongside canapes from Hutong and Aqua.

8. Bourbon Street Party at Smoke and Barrel

Price: HK$988 for free-flow drinks and dinner, add on HK$298 for the countdown party 

Dress Code: Circus-ready

When: Dinner from 7 to 11pm, countdown party from 11pm to 1am

What: Live DJ, drag show by Violette Blanche, and a New Orleans-style menu paired with free-flow drinks? Count us in. Smoke and Barrel will be bringing a special, circus mime theme version of their Bourbon Street party for NYE. Continue the party after dinner by adding on an extra HK$298 to continue your night of free-flow.

9. Countdown to 2022 at Roji

Price: HK$598 for standard drinks, highballs & sake. HK$898 for extra Moët champagne

Dress Code: None

When: 10pm to 1am

What: Roji, the modern Japanese restaurant that took over Brickhouse’s old alley spot, will be bringing Tokyo’s night scene to Lan Kwai Fong this NYE. Entrance tickets include three hours of free-flow sakes and highballs, while an additional HK$300 will get you unlimited Moët bubbly for the night.

10. Y2K22 NYE Party at Eaton

Price: Early bird tickets range from HK$380 to HK$440. General admission HK$500

Dress Code: 2000s

When: 10pm to 1am

What: Eaton hotel will be throwing it back to the 2000s with their Y2K22 NYE free-flow drinks party at Terrible Baby. The hotel will be bringing in Cantopop dance music from the 2000s, as well as live music from local bands Blood, Wine or Honey, and Band +Thur.

11. NYE Countdown at Zuma

Price: HK980

Dress Code: Silver and Glitter

When: 9:30pm onwards

What: Known for their lively NYE parties, Zuma will be having a silver glitter-themed party on their sixth-floor lounge and bar. Prior to the countdown, enjoy a special NYE Yoshoku Night Brunch where you can devour sushi, modern Japanese dishes and more. After the feast, enjoy free-flow Veuve Clicquot champagne and live music while you wait for the ball to drop.
