When Yasmin Ahmad’s beloved classic Sepet was made into a musical in 2019 by local theatre company Liver & Lung, it was an instant success. After three sold-out shows and multiple Cammies awards, Sepet: The Musical will be revived at Petaling Jaya Performing Arts Centre (PJPAC) this March with Joshua Anthony Gui and Badrika Baluch as Jason and Orked in this heartwarming interracial romance.

Penang-born mezzo-soprano Yi Ling Chaing stars as Elle alongside Colombian music director and pianist Juan Montoya in Kuala Lumpur City Opera’s emotional monodrama of French composer Francis Poulenc’s masterpiece La voix humaine (The Human Voice). It explores themes of isolation, deception, depression and suicide via a woman’s troubled telephone conversation with her ex-lover.
