After her breakout role in Squid Game, Jung Ho-yeon has scored her next acting project in the Apple TV+ series Disclaimer

Squid Game breakout star Jung Ho-yeon’s next project is finally here. The SAG Award-winning actress will star in Apple TV+’s upcoming original thriller Disclaimer. She joins Academy Award-winning stars Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline.

The new psychological series will be helmed by the multi-Academy Award, Golden Globe and BAFTA Award-winning director, producer, cinematographer and editor Alfonso Cuarón. The director is best known for his 2018 movie Roma for which he won the Best Director award at the Oscars.

Making his series debut, Cuarón will also write, direct and serve as executive producer through his production company Esperanto Filmoj.

The series is based on the 2015 eponymous novel by Renée Knight and follows Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett) as a successful documentary journalist whose work was built on revealing the hidden transgressions of long-respected institutions.

An intriguing novel written by a widower (Kline) appears on her bedside table and Ravenscroft finds herself as the key character in a story that she had buried in the past. Now, it’s revealing her darkest secret.

Jung will star as Kim, an ambitious, hardworking and eager-to-please character. She knows that working for Ravenscroft is going to be her big break. The role will mark Jung’s debut in a US production. The model-turned-actress recently won a Critics Choice Super Award for Best Actress in an Action Series in addition to her SAG Award win last month.

Other cast members include Academy Award nominees Sacha Baron Cohen and Kido Smit-McPhee. The show also marks the first project to debut from a multi-year deal with Cuarón who is developing television series exclusively for Apple TV+.
