The theme for International Women's Day (IWD) this year, Break The Bias, encourages women to go against social conventions while celebrating their accomplishments. Under this hashtag, we have seen a multitude of women share their experiences of breaking boundaries as well as speak up against gender inequality in various aspects of life.
Regardless of gender, IWD is a momentous occasion for all to commemorate the strides made in female empowerment and to reflect on what more can be done to achieve true gender parity.
Below, here are some empowering ways to specially commemorate this global movement in Singapore this year.
1. Visit the Women by Women street photography exhibition
Organised by Women in Street SG, Women by Women is a street photography exhibition celebrating the inspiring photography of female photographers in Singapore. This exhibition showcases the works of 13 female street photographers which serves to tell an impactful and meaningful story that seeks to inspire.
