Layer on the face paint and pick out your costumes for the hottest Halloween parties happening in Hong Kong this 2021

After putting a pause on Halloween celebrations last year due to Covid-19, the haunting season is back in full force this year. From a tropical island-themed Halloween party where you’ll be sipping on pina coladas all night long, to another that’ll be serving pirate blood cocktails, here are where the haunted souls will come to play this year.

When: October 30, 8:30pm to 1:30am

Where: Duddell's, Level 3, Shanghai Tang Mansion, 1 Duddell Street, Central, Hong Kong

What: Duddell's is bringing back their famed Halloween parties. This year, they'll be bringing Cruella's extraordinary ball to life—channel your inner Cruella and dress as wild as you desire. All guests must be vaccinated, and tickets include one glass of Perrier-Jouët champagne. 

Underwater Horrors at Aqua Spirit

Where: Aqua Spirit, 30/F, One Peking, Peking Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

What: Aqua Spirit in Tsim Sha Tsui will be hosting an Underwater Horror-themed Halloween party in collaboration with Veuve Clicquot—which means you’ll be sipping on free-flow glasses of bubbly as you dance the night away. There will also be one complimentary themed welcome drink when you arrive: choose from Dark Tide or Pirate’s Blood cocktail to get the party started.

Disco Devils & Dark Angels at Potato Head

What: Potato Head will be hosting a three-hour free flow Horror and Dark Disco inspired dance party in their Music Room this Halloween, transforming the restaurant into a haunted Balinese Island. Johnny Hiller and guest Guido Balboa will be taking care of the music for the night. Dress up as the most horrific devil or the darkest angel imaginable.

Netflix and Thrill at Roji

What: We’ve found the perfect party for you to debut your Squid Game costume this Halloween. Roji, Lan Kwai Fong’s hip izakaya restaurant, will be hosting a frightful Halloween party themed “Netflix and Thrill”. Inspired by a year of Covid-induced TV bingeing, Roji invites you to dress as your favourite character from popular Netflix shows. The person with the best-dressed costume this year will be able to bring home HK$3,000 dining credit to be used at Roji. What: Throw it back to the 90s at The Daily Tot this Halloween. Inviting guests to dress up as their favourite 90s attire, or as a 90s TV, music or movie personality, the bar will be offering free-flow drinks for three hours while DJ King GNS takes over the soundtrack.

Gothic Glam Party at MO Bar

What: For spooky face makeup, drinks, food as well as live music, head over to MO Bar. Landmark Oriental's bar will be transformed into a stylish, gothic room on the weekend of Halloween. Tropical Island Halloween at Poem

When: October 30, 5pm to 11:30pm

Where: Poem, 5/F, LKF Tower, 33 Wyndham Street, Central, Hong Kong

What: Bali-inspired restaurant Poem will be celebrating Halloween in tropical island style this year, bringing you three hours of open bar where you’d be able to gulp down cups and glasses of tiki cocktails, spirits, wine and beer as well as unlimited tropical snacks and appetisers. Put on your best tiki outfit and grab your friends—from now until October 21, early-bird buyers will receive one complimentary ticket with the purchase of five regular priced tickets. The night will be separated into two sessions, one from 5pm to 8pm and another from 8.30pm to 11.30pm.

Get Freaky at Frankentiki at Frank’s Italian American Social Club

When: October 30, 7pm onwards

Where: Frank’s, Harilela House, G/F & 1/F, No. 79 Wyndham Street, Central, Hong Kong

What: DJ John L will be playing an all-vinyl soundtrack at Frank’s on the night before Halloween as the restaurant transforms into a freaky tropical lounge. Expect fun tiki cocktails such as the Pi-Yi, a rum-based drink blended with lime, passionfruit, pineapple and honey; or the Miami Vice, made with white rum, strawberries, lime juice and coconut cream; and the Sicilian Neck Tai, a wild concoction with grappa, limoncello and spiced rum.

If you’re feeling peckish, Frank’s will also be introducing a Tiki menu that’ll feature sweet and sour pork meatballs with caramelised pineapple and a coconut shrimp scampi.

Halloween Block Party at Starstreet Precinct

Where: Starstreet Precinct

What: From October 25 to 30, guests who dine at Pici, The Pizza Project and TMK Rap & Rolls on Starstreet Precinct will get tokens for trick or treating on Halloween day. The party, which will be held on 31st, will start at 11:30am—kids will be offered free sweets, while adults will be given complimentary adults in exchange for tokens. Remember to come in your best costumes as the ones with the best-tagged costume on Instagram could win a free tasting menu for four at your favourite Pirata restaurant at Starstreet.

Halloween Japanese Circus at Zuma

When: October 30, 9pm onwards

Where: Zuma, Level 5&6, Landmark Atrium, 15 Queen’s Road Central, Central, Hong Kong

What: Modern Japanese restaurant, Zuma, will be bringing their famed free-flow champagne Halloween party back once again this year at their sixth-floor lounge. This year, the restaurant will be embracing the festivities in a Japanese circus theme. 

Offering restaurant diners the option to pre-purchase general entry tickets to the party at a discounted price ahead of time, you'll want to book a table for their dinner anyway—Zuma will be offering its Yashoku night brunch on the 30th to keep your stomachs satisfied before a long night of champagne.

Drunk Souls Remastered at Sound Department
