In honour of Jin's birthday, we bring you the vocalist of K-pop septet BTS' most iconic moments to date
December 4th is a special day for BTS fans worldwide as it happens to be the birthday of one of its members, Jin. Over the years, the K-pop star has been known affectionately by his nickname, “Worldwide Handsome” because of his universally good looks. As BTS stood in line in front of photographers at the Billboard Music Awards back in 2017, people on the internet were captivated by the third member from the left. Clad in a sleek black suit, Jin quickly went viral online as people took to Twitter to ask for a name to his face.

It seems that anonymity is his forte as he always seems to be missing a name at award shows. On his return to the Billboard Music Awards in 2018, he stunned the internet again whilst sporting a snazzy waistcoat, which earned him yet another nickname: “waistcoat guy”.
Even without knowing about BTS, they definitely gained several new members to their fanbase as viewers were quick to notice Jin’s handsome looks on the red carpet. Talk about the power of looks.

3. Car Door Guy
Who knew getting out of a car could be attractive? Jin’s effortless and ethereal exit from a vehicle earned him the nickname “Car door guy” at the 2015 Melon Music Awards.
As the car door slid open with Jin emerging from the vehicle, fans and netizens commented on the scene’s resemblance to a K-drama. Indeed, with his looks and charisma, Jin may just as well begin an acting career.
4. The guy with the pink mic
BTS’s appearance in MTV Unplugged was a hot topic amongst fans as they sang to their latest singles. While the septet was belting songs, the hashtag “#theguywiththepinkmic” was slowly gaining traction on Twitter.
Netizens and fans alike rallied together as the hashtag remained trending on social media in more than 14 countries.

Jin’s latest splash was made at the 2020 American Music Awards. As BTS was giving their video message virtually for their win in Favourite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock and Favourite Social Artist, viewers were (once again) captivated by his dashing looks. This time, he sported neat bangs and a pair of glasses.
Jin has repeatedly proved that his “worldwide handsome” looks never fade. “The guy with glasses” instantly trended worldwide as fans and social media users flooded the internet to identify Jin.
