The Marvel movie will be available for the first time on the streaming site in Malaysia
One of the biggest box office hits during a pandemic, Marvel Studios' Black Widow will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar in Malaysia on October 6. In July, the long-awaited solo Black Widow movie was given a hybrid release in cinemas as well as on Premier Access on Disney+ in the US. It was the number one movie on its opening weekend, earning more than US$200 million globally; it has made US$378 million internationally so far.

Kicking off Phase 4 of the MCU that will herald a new group of superheroes, Black Widow takes Natasha Romanoff back to her past and reuniting her with the family that raised her and the nefarious organisation that trained her to become an assassin. Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow closes another chapter on one of the original Avengers.
The movie has since courted controversy when star Scarlett Johansson filed a lawsuit against Disney for breach of contract, claiming she was blindsided by its simultaneous release on a streaming platform, which she believed affected box-office receipts at the cinemas.
