What do you think of The Pantone Colour of the Year?

"The Pantone Colour of the Year reflects what is taking place in our global culture, expressing what people are looking for that colour can hope to answer," says Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Colour Institute. For 2022, the pioneer in colour matching announces PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri to be the colour of the year.

For the first time in Pantone's history, it created a brand new colour of dynamic periwinkle blue with a violet red undertone, in an effort to encourage people to embrace a new era of global innovation and creativity as the world emerges from lockdowns and isolation. To announce the big news, it illuminated the interior of Artechouse in New York City in moving graphics of Very Peri, offering guests a sensorial 360-degree experience of the colour.

Many have praised Pantone's mission in bringing positivity to the pandemic-stricken global community. In 2021, they announced two colours of the year for the first time, PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating. The combination of strong grey and bright yellow was a message of strength and hopefulness and a reminder to support each other during the crisis.
