Have a look at the lovely moments Michael Tan and Mykie Concepcion shared on their wedding day

Michael Tan and Mykie Concepcion almost considered postponing their wedding given the pandemic. “Getting married is already stressful, what more doing it amid a pandemic with the ever-changing regulations and health protocols. However, we decided that we would be flexible with the times; and at the end of the day, all we wanted was to get married to each other,” Concepcion relates.

With the help of wedding coordinators from Rita Neri Event Planners, the couple finally tied the knot on the 12th of November.

The big day turned out to be more than what the bride had envisioned. Tan and Concepcion decided to veer away from a common wedding tradition and have a first look, a private moment where the bride and groom see each other in their gown and suit before the ceremony to beat the pre-wedding nerves. “I’m so happy we did [it], because it was nice for us to have a moment alone before all the festivities took place. Migs looked so handsome in his barong! I couldn’t wait to start my life with the man of my dreams!” the bride shares.

The groom even uttered a brief prayer, expressing his gratitude and excitement for what was to come.

“Thank you, Lord for giving me the woman of my dreams. This is my wife to be, my partner, my home and shelter... help us grow in love every day,” said Tan. Later at the Santuario de San Antonio Church, the bride walked down the aisle lined by blooms in bright shades of yellow, orange and purple. At the altar, the pair were wed in the presence of family and friends.

Sharing such a momentous day with the guests was high on Concepcion’s list of favourite moments. She recalls, “Although the pandemic limited our guest list, it became a more intimate celebration. The smaller affair allowed us to be more of ourselves, and to really spend time and bond with our loved ones. It was great seeing them all have a great time and interact with one another.”

During the reception, the newlywed’s families had prepared videos by Notion in Motion. They were surprised to see their parents and siblings share messages that touched the heart, along with old family videos and their photos through the years.

“We were so touched by the outpouring of love from our families. And we think our guests were filled with emotion as well,” Concepcion says.

These guests were the same loving and supportive people whom the bride believes have shaped the “Mykie and Migs” of today.

The bride shares, “Seeing them share in our joy, and feeling all the love and support from them, made our wedding day all the more special as the day itself was not only a celebration of love between bride and groom. . .but a celebration of the love, support and affection they have all given us in our lives”.
