Over a hearty four-course dinner, guests discovered the illustrious history behind the Louis XIII cognac

Kicking off Tatler House's first private event of 2022, Tatler Malaysia and Louis XIII hosted an intimate dinner for a group of Tatler friends to experience the renowned French cognac in style.

Surrounded by art, live music and upbeat conversation, eight guests were invited to enjoy a four-course dinner curated by Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur's executive chef Gérald Genson. After the main course was served, Louis XIII private client director Cheryl Xie McCallum shared eye-opening insights about the generations-old craftsmanship and legacy preserved in each bottle of Louis XIII.

Following this introduction, guests proceeded to the living room to enjoy a pairing of the Louis XIII cognac with the dessert course, a delicate pineapple cake with passion cream and mango mousse.

After watching a short video presentation about the origins of Louis XIII, our Tatler friends were invited to enjoy a multi-sensory experience of the cognac, discovering its exceptional taste, aroma and the distinctive G-sharp note produced when two Louis XIII crystal cognac glasses are clinked together.

At the end of the evening, every guest got to take home a personalised calligraphy Chinese New Year painting by calligraphy artist and illustrator Vivian Lee, along with a special door gift by Louis XIII.
