Nica Banag

Fitness coach and founder of Calibarzz

Helping people live a fit and healthy life is what inspires Nica Banag to continue teaching. The fitness coach is persistent when it comes to perfecting her craft which makes her a great role model for those who want to be as ripped and healthy as Banag. She encourages others to set small goals and to take their time, the same advice she lives by that has led her to where she is now. She has completely incorporated the fitness regimen into her lifestyle rather than seeing it as a chore—a mindset that most people need to realise and will soon understand once they learn from Banag herself during her classes.

Ida Paras

Personal trainer and co-founder of The Movement Studio

Her genuine passion for keeping fit and healthy helped her establish The Movement Studio, a training centre in Taguig composed of an amazing team of instructors who are dedicated to showing how everyone can have a blast while doing the right workout routine. When Paras took up dentistry and was often physically and mentally exhausted, she had to find a way to bounce back. That was when she fell in love with Brazilian Jiujitsu, which later led her closer to her lifelong passion: fitness. The Movement Studio uses a method that veers away from the common “no pain, no gain” treatment. Instead, Paras encourages her clients to strive for consistency.

Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La Boracay

Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La Boracay is a haven in many ways. Overlooking a private bay on a 5,714sqm spa village complex, Chi, The Spa draws its inspiration from the name Shangri-La itself, which means an idyllic hideaway. The services it offers are all tributes to the Philippines as well. Their massages use local ingredients to promote well-being of their clients with services such as the traditional Philippine hilot. Whole body treatments are a popular option for many of Chi The Spa’s clients. A coconut milk bath will moisturise skin all over while a probiotic body scrub that uses Epsom salt, organic sugar and shea butter will instantly smoothen and rejuvenate skin.
