The solar-powered Solargraph movement debuts in the colourful Formula 1 collection

Tag Heuer unveils nine new Formula 1 watches in various combinations of bright hues. Available in 38mm TH-Polylight sandblasted steel case, it features a 60-second/minute scale on the bi-directional bezel and hour markers in the shape of the Tag Heuer shield. All models come with either a steel bracelet, a racing rubber strap, or a rubber strap embossed with the brand logo.

The heartbeat is the Calibre TH50-00 Solargraph movement, which was first introduced in the Aquaracer Professional in 2022. As its name suggests, the movement derives energy from the sun and artificial light.

The Solargraph is groundbreaking not only because of its source of power, but also because of its ultra-efficient recharging ability. A quick 10-minute exposure to light charges it up for a whole day. A full charge after 40 hours of light exposure enables the watch to run continuously for up to 10 months.

When it was first released in the 1980s, the Formula 1 collection quickly became a cult favourite because of its bold use of colours. Today, its vintage charm aligns with the zeitgeist, now enhanced by cutting-edge innovation. Incidentally, this is the watch that inspired the design of the pitlane clock for the current Formula 1 season.
