Vintage Grail unveils an oeuvre of tantalising regalia at Tatler House Philippines' debut event
Throughout the country and beyond, Vintage Grail has helped establish the art of watch collecting as a paradisical pursuit, crafting a judicious niche of both passionate enthusiasts and discerning novices alike. This was fittingly made apparent in the elegance of the newly unveiled Tatler House in Shangri-La at the Fort, where the reputable hub hosted an exclusive discovery of its first-ever curated collection for ladies.

Vintage Grail co-founder Paolo Martel later relayed, “We recognise and appreciate women and their discerning tastes, so we put together beautifully handcrafted timepieces as well as jewellery. We believe that watch collecting is for everyone, so we’re looking to do more of these events to show exactly that.” Distinguished guests and Tatler friends arrived to show their support and drool on the bespoke selections, and drool on the bespoke selections while enjoying afternoon tea, glasses of bubbly with savoury canapés and later in the evening, cocktails as the sun gloriously set and uplifting music played.

Among many notable pieces, Martel named the Patek Philippe Nautilus Rose Gold Watch 7118/1200R as a prized item in the collection, most alluring for its silvery opaline dial and the 56 diamonds on its octagonal bezel. As for the adored anthology of jewellery pieces at the event, he mentioned the intricate Toi et Moi ring with a Colombian emerald and diamond as a personal favourite—truly a statement piece for the sophisticate.

Women have long been avid collectors of jewellery, art and rare handbags, and now Vintage Grail is focusing on their appreciation of exceptional craftsmanship in watches. With its curated gems undoubtedly drawing more people to a cultivated community, Martel also added how resolute their group stands amid economic challenges and changing times. “The demand for luxury watches has been quite resilient. We have remained steadfast in being the premier watch specialist in sourcing rare, modern and vintage timepieces for collectors and enthusiasts in the Asia-Pacific region. We’re very committed to broadening the appeal of luxury watches to a wider audience.”
Martel’s final word of advice to any aspiring collector? “Buy what appeals to you,” he enthused. “Do not be limited by what is popular, trending or just because it is an investment. Much like anything that you would hold on to for years to come, the things you would acquire and collect should be something that you really like or have a connection with. Your unique taste will be what would build your personal collection and set it apart.”
