The 4-day engagement platform celebrates the rich history and artistry of watchmaking. Iamwatch will take place from October 17 to 20, 2024 at The Singapore Edition

The Hour Glass is set to reignite the passion of watch enthusiasts with Iamwatch, a four-day event scheduled for October 17 to 20, 2024, in Singapore. This intimate gathering promises to be a haven for watch collectors, makers, and industry luminaries, offering a unique platform for face-to-face interactions and knowledge sharing.

Iamwatch marks a significant milestone for The Hour Glass, coming two decades after their groundbreaking “Tempus—The Great Watchscapade” exposition in 2004. The new programme aims to foster a deeper connection within the Pan-Asian watch-collecting community, emphasising the rich history and artistry of watchmaking.

“Our desire is to lay a foundation of knowledge about the developmental path of the horological science and the watchmaking arts,” says Michael Tay, group managing director of The Hour Glass. “Our hope is that all delegates leave Iamwatch enriched by the human connections they have made, educated by the lectures and motivated to continue down this joyous path of watch collecting into the future.”

Set against the backdrop of the recently opened The Singapore Edition, Iamwatch embraces a relaxed atmosphere that blends sophistication with tropical charm—a nod to Singapore’s reputation as a garden city. The curated programme will feature over 40 distinguished guests from the watchmaking world, alongside fireside chats and lectures designed to educate and inspire.

Participants can look forward to masterclasses on watchmaking entrepreneurship from titans of the industry like MB&F founder and creative director Maximilian Büsser; marketing legend Jean-Claude Biver; and renowned designer and illustrator Lee Yuen-Rapati.

In a whimsical twist that’s sure to resonate with watch aficionados, the dress code for the event is “Double-wristed, Resort casual”, encouraging attendees to sport timepieces on both wrists.

Iamwatch opens with an exclusive invite-only Private View and Vernissage on October 17, followed by three days of public access from October 18. While admission is free, pre-registration is required through the event’s website, ensuring a curated experience for all attendees.
