Cover Tatler GMT hosts an exclusive evening with Panerai and IWC Schaffhausen

Held in partnership with Ion Orchard, the intimate evening saw the watch lovers in our Tatler GMT community exploring elegant timepieces

Watch enthusiasts and Tatler community members came together on a Thursday evening to discover Panerai and IWC Schaffhausen’s latest creations. The evening was in partnership with Ion Orchard, as part of the mall’s watches and jewellery month.

Tatler Singapore’s editor-in-chief Aun Koh kicked off the evening with a welcome speech before Panerai’s client development manager Eliza May Gloria was invited to share a few words.

Following the welcome speeches, guests sipped on champagne and savoured canapés as they explored the boutique while trying on the Maison’s watches, including its latest novelties from the Luna Rossa collection.

The evening continued as guests were led to Panerai’s private room for a masterclass. Led by Panerai’s watch technician Chai Shin Nyiap and senior client advisor Farhan Bin Abdul Halid, the hands-on masterclass showed guests a glimpse into Panerai’s watch movements. Farhan shared how it takes years of training and a lot of precision to get this right.

Next, guests headed to IWC Schaffhausen’s boutique where they were greeted by Tatler GMT’s editor Annabel Tan and managing director of IWC SEAO Florian Gutsmiedl who gave insight on the brand’s history and heritage. Gutsmiedl also introduced the brand’s Eternal Calendar, a hyper-accurate calendar calibre that’s accurate until the year 3999.

Guests were then invited to explore the boutique and try on its timepieces. Additionally, they got to indulge in a whisky-tasting session courtesy of The Glenrothes. Led by the malt’s brand ambassador Thunder Tse, the session saw guests sipping on the 18-year-old and 25-year-old expressions.

Bubbles and conversations continued as our guests continued discovering the boutiques’ elegant creations. As the night came to a close, guests parted with Tatler GMT’s latest issues, an IWC-branded keyring and a Panerai watch masterclass certificate.
