Find out how guests were given the opportunity to be immersed in the universe of Cartier’s enigmatic feline icon
Fans of Cartier will be familiar with La Panthère, one of the French luxury maison’s most recognisable icons. The emblematic panther motif has deep roots in the brand’s history, having first been introduced in 1914 on a ladies’ wristwatch. La Panthère was also the nickname of Jeanne Touissant, who was the artistic director of high jewellery at the French luxury maison, and this was reinforced in many of her designs.
A symbol of strength and independence, La Panthère has evolved over the years and has continued to show its personality in Cartier’s many creations from watches to jewellery, leather goods, eyewear, fragrances and more. To showcase the many facets of the famed feline, Tatler GMT and Cartier hosted a private cocktail at the maison’s flagship boutique in Ion Orchard.

Above Cartier's La Panthère fragrances
Upon arrival at the boutique, guests were escorted to Le Salon Cartier, an exclusive floor for bespoke client treatment, where they welcomed with champagne as well as a La Panthère cocktail and Jeanne Touissant mocktail exclusively created for the event. Here, Tatler Singapore’s branded content editor, Adriel Chiun, hosted a styling session showcasing the versatility of Cartier’s Panthère collection. Models were dressed in various Panthère jewellery, watches and accessories to demonstrate the ease of wearing the pieces from day to night.
As they enjoyed a selection of canapés and small plates, guests also enjoyed mingling and shopping at the sprawling 688 sq m boutique. To make the evening extra memorable, artist-poet Grace Siu Wei of Graceful Quills was on hand to create customised typewritten poetry.
