An afterparty thrown in honour of Tag Heuer's Carrera Three Hands had regional guests and celebrities revelling atop the Park Hyatt in Bangkok
Bright lights twinkle amid the Bangkok skyline, yet the one that remains the most vivid in my mind is the exciting red hue that emanated from the Penthouse Grill + Bar at the Park Hyatt Bangkok. On the eve of July 19, 2022, Swiss watch brand, Tag Heuer, invited regional guests from across Southeast Asia for a special screening of Ryan Gosling's latest film, The Gray Man. Showing off his versatility as an actor, Gosling takes on the role of a CIA black ops mercenary on the run after discovering incriminating secrets concerning the agency. Regé-Jean Page and Chris Evans team up to kill him, chasing him around the world from—you guessed it—Bangkok to Vienna.

Posters of the movie, now available for streaming on Netflix, have been plastered all around Metro Manila. Donning a red suit, the dashing Gosling wears a Tag Heuer Carrera Three Hands on all the posters and throughout the film. Those who have seen the movie will note his character, Sierra Six's, blasé attitude, a personality trait that gets him through the most impossible of situations. Likely, this stems from Six's expertise as an agent, and from the confidence he has in his reliable accomplice all throughout the movie: the aforementioned Tag Heuer timepiece.
Originally created in the early 60s, the Tag Heuer Carrera Three Hands has a legacy that thrives amid life in the fast lane. It was made for high-speed pursuits on the racetrack, where one second could be one second too late. Fearlessness is the epitome of the timepiece's essence, and so it became the obvious choice for Sierra Six.

To celebrate the watch, and its craftsmanship and innovation, Tag Heuer arranged for a special screening for guests all around Southeast Asia. Media partners and luminaries from across Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines were flown to the city of smiles and of angels (and of Michelin stars, it seems) to catch a special screening of The Gray Man. It was held in the luxurious Embassy Diplomat Screens theatre, where popcorn and soda were already waiting for each guest.

Afterwards, everyone was ushered to the rooftop deck of Park Hyatt hotel, where they enjoyed an exclusive soirée complete with a DJ and delicious food to boot. Béatrice Goasglas, Managing Director for TAG Heuer S.E.A, Australia and Korea, commented on the film saying, "True to the ethos of a TAG Heuer ambassador, Ryan as Sierra Six never stops challenging himself, he is the perfect match for the TAG Heuer Carrera, a subtle mix of action, performance, elegance and style. It was a very meaningful moment for the brand to see our iconic watch share the screen with him in a saga that so authentically captures our values."
The rest of the evening seemed an exciting blur: the bar open and free-flowing, with cocktails named after Agent Six and Agent Miranda. Guests from all over the region sashayed around the room, eager to meet and mingle. From the Philippines, David Guison and Angelique Manto wore a bespoke suit and a sparkly silver dress with Mach&Mach shoes, respectively. Their matching Tag Heuer watches complemented their outfits. Other attendees were Indonesian musician Maia Estianty, Indonesian actor Al Ghazali, Thai actor Nine Naphat, Thai model Jam Jirayu, Singaporean actress Rosalyn Lee, English presenter based in Singapore Edward Russell, and Singaporean model Iman Fandi.

Finger foods were fine and delectable—deviled eggs, wagyu sliders, fish and chips. Above the bar, Thai DJ Burtong played danceable tunes: everything from Earth Wind and Fire to Silk Sonic. From the glass panels of the topmost floor at Park Hyatt, all could see the fantastic glittering panorama of this vibrant city—and yet what really stole the show were the Tag Heuer watches on display: the exact models that Ryan Gosling wore in The Gray Man.

The Tag Heuer Carrera can be personified by their distinctive motto of "Don't Crack Under Pressure". Through the difficulties faced by Agent Six and even up to the exciting events that took place for Asian delegates in Bangkok, the Tag Heuer Carrera has been a constant companion. Watch collectors and enthusiasts are given a timepiece that is reliable, glamorous, and efficient. No matter the mission—or party—one is attending, one can be sure that the Tag Heuer Carrera will take them through from day to night and through any adventure.
