As the 2025 season of endurance racing gets underway, the iconic Swiss timepiece Rolex once again reaffirms its indispensable place in the world of speed.
For more than half a century, Rolex has been more than just a companion to motorsport. In every roar of the engine, each daring corner, and all the breathtaking moments on the track, the presence of Rolex speaks to discipline, perseverance and an unwavering commitment to precision: values intrinsic to both horology and racing.
The brand’s association with motorsport dates back to the 1930s, when Sir Malcolm Campbell broke the world land speed record wearing a Rolex. Since then, its role has only grown, with support for some of the sport’s most prestigious events, including the Rolex 24 At Daytona, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Since 2001, Rolex has served as official partner of the Monterey Motorsports Reunion, a centrepiece of Monterey Car Week, among the most significant classic car gatherings in the United States. With more than 400 historic racing cars, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion captures the essence of racing heritage through the decades. As the Official Timepiece of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the global benchmark for endurance racing, Rolex brings to life the notion of “endurance over time”, through races that stretch from daylight into darkness, unflinching in the face of changing conditions.
The blend of legendary names and emerging teams, the advent of cutting-edge hybrid technology, and the intensity of competition across classes mark a thrilling new chapter for the sport.

In 2024, Monterey Car Week commemorated the 50th anniversary of the historic race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, with Rolex continuing its longstanding role as Title Sponsor and Official Timepiece. More than just an exhibition of vintage vehicles, the event pays homage to motorsport legends, including Sir Jackie Stewart, a Rolex Testimonee since 1968, who has always championed precision in both racing and watchmaking.
Meanwhile, in Europe, Rolex remains the Official Timepiece of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) events that demand not only timekeeping, but extraordinary stamina from teams and drivers alike. In 2023, Le Mans marked its centenary with nine-time winner and current Rolex Testimonee Tom Kristensen embodying the enduring spirit of the race and the brand. At Le Mans, time is not just a matter of seconds; it is measured across a century of passion and progress.

At The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, another highlight of Monterey Car Week, Rolex plays a strategic role in celebrating rare and historically significant automobiles. The brand also lends its support to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance®, widely regarded as one of the most prestigious classic car competitions in the world. Each vehicle is judged with uncompromising standards, recognising design excellence, rarity, and meticulous preservation. Set against the manicured greens of Pebble Beach Golf Links®, a course once graced by legends like Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods, the display radiates elegance and enduring style. The event captures a shared spirit of legacy and precision that echoes Rolex’s values in both watchmaking and the theatre of motorsport.
The brand is also present at Goodwood Motor Circuit in England, a venue steeped in tradition, where celebrated drivers and devoted fans come together amidst an atmosphere of charm and character. This year marks two decades of Rolex’s partnership with Goodwood Revival, underscoring a deep commitment to the event’s nostalgic ethos while saluting the innovations in mechanics and style that continue to resonate today. Rolex’s involvement here goes beyond branding; it stands as a testament to a lasting relationship with the heritage of motor racing.

The FIA World Endurance Championship is drawing heightened interest from global manufacturers including Ferrari, Toyota, Porsche, Cadillac and Peugeot. The level of competition is unprecedented, and the spotlight now turns to Le Mans 2025, where hybrid powertrains and renewable energy innovations are expected to take centre stage.

Serving as Official Timepiece, Rolex maintains an unwavering presence across every lap: precision timing under conditions that allow for no margin of error. Alongside motorsport greats such as Jenson Button, a Rolex Testimonee who competed at the Rolex 24 At Daytona, the Swiss watchmaker continues to champion a season shaped by ambition, ingenuity and emotional highs.
With a heritage built on iconic machines and masterful drivers, Rolex is far more than a timekeeper. It is a symbol of resilience, excellence and forward-thinking spirit. As the engines roar once more in 2025, the brand reaffirms its standing in the fast-paced world of endurance racing where engineering, passion and legacy converge at speed.
