An immersive exhibition at Paragon traces the journey of the Rolex GMT-Master, from its aviation roots to its status as a cosmopolitan icon

This October, Rolex and Cortina Watch invite visitors on a journey across eras and continents with Time Zone to Time Zone, an exhibition dedicated to the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master. Taking place at Paragon’s Level 1 Main Atrium from October 24 to November 2, 2025, the showcase offers an in-depth look at one of Rolex’s most recognisable creations.

The exhibition is designed as a series of thematic panels that chart the GMT-Master’s evolution since its launch in 1955. Developed at the dawn of intercontinental aviation, the watch allowed pilots to keep track of two time zones simultaneously. Its signature two-colour bezel soon became emblematic of modern travel and remains a defining feature of the collection today.

Visitors will discover how the GMT-Master moved beyond the cockpit to become a cosmopolitan companion for actors, explorers, artists, entrepreneurs and more. From Plexiglas bezels to today’s high-tech ceramic, and from the original calibre 1036 GMT to the present-day calibre 3285, the exhibition highlights the many innovations that have refined the watch without compromising its identity.

Complementing the technical narrative are stories of the personalities who have worn the GMT-Master, each reinforcing its status as a watch of exploration and connection. These vignettes situate the timepiece not only in horological history, but also in the cultural imagination. The exhibition culminates in a short documentary film, an evocative journey through decades of design and discovery that brings the GMT-Master’s story full circle.

Beyond the historical perspective, Time Zone to Time Zone also presents the current GMT-Master II models, from Oystersteel to 18-karat yellow gold. For visitors, it is an opportunity to experience the enduring appeal of a watch that continues to bridge time zones with elegance and precision.
