At an exclusive Tatler GMT event, Rado revealed new ceramic watches like the Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic and Anatom Automatic

In watchmaking, ceramic may be almost as common as steel today but there was a time when the material was considered revolutionary. Credit goes to Rado for paving the way for the scratch-proof and extremely lightweight ceramic to construct its watches.

Rado, in partnership with Tatler GMT, recently conducted an intimate sharing session on its ceramic innovations at its boutique in Suria KLCC. The evening kicked off with a warm welcome by Penny Chong, brand manager of Rado Malaysia. Chong later introduced Christof Ammann, Rado's head of logistics operations, on a video call from the brand's headquarters in Lengnau, Switzerland. During this session, Ammann shared how Rado became an innovator of ceramic watches and the difference between the high-tech ceramic it uses and regular ceramic—for one, the former is significantly more shock-resistant.

After this insightful talk, it was time for our guests to discover the watches in person. They were impressed by the multitude of colours and finishings, demonstrating Rado's unique expertise in ceramic. Highlights of the collections include the Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Skeleton endowed with a skeletonised movement with antimagnetic Nivachron hairspring, the limited-edition Anatom Automatic with baguette diamonds for hour markers, and the True Square x Kunihiko Morinaga special edition with a photochromic dial.
