Poetic and versatile, the new Panerai Luminor Due Luna is the ideal watch for modern women
When it comes to complications, every watch lover has one or two that they can't help but have a weakness for. Those that appreciate dreamy dials and the allure of astronomy often gravitate towards the moon phase, which depicts the current phase of the moon as observed from Earth. Sophisticated and poetic, the complication has the ability to not only elevate a timepiece but add a touch of magic.
Appealing to these romantics, Panerai has introduced its first small moon phase complication in the new Luminor Due Luna. A more compact version of the brand’s iconic Luminor watches, the Luminor Due Luna has the same shape and features but is better suited for smaller wrists at 38mm.

A versatile day-to-night piece that goes with both casual and formal wear, the watch is available in four iterations—all bearing the dreamy moon phase with an engraved, solid gold moon against a starry midnight blue sky on a rotating disc at 3 o’clock. A small seconds sub-dial also sits at 9 o’clock.
Perhaps the most feminine of the four is the Luminor Due Luna Goldtech Madreperla (PAM01181), which features an iridescent mother of pearl dial within a polished case made from Panerai Goldtech, an alloy combining platinum and a high percentage of copper for a striking red gold tone.
In typical Panerai fashion, the white self-luminous substance, Super-LumiNova, is applied on the dial’s golden numerals and indexes. An open caseback on the watch reveals the workings of the automatic P900/MP calibre within, which has a 3-day power reserve, while a polished alligator strap gives it a lustrous finishing touch.

The other three models in the Luminor Due Luna collection are made with steel cases—two of which feature white sunbrushed dials with the signature Panerai sandwich structure (made of two superimposed plates, where the bottom layer bears beige Super-LumiNova in recessed numerals and indexes, while the top has cutouts to allow the luminescence to glow through for a stencil effect) and beige Super-LumiNova hands.
To appeal to different preferences and occasions, one comes with a polished pink alligator strap (PAM01180), while the other has a Luminor Due steel bracelet (PAM01301). The curves on the links of the steel bracelet reflect a similar design identity to the distinctive Panerai crown-protection device located on the bezel, and are accentuated by alternating polished and brushed finishes. Polishing along the edges of these curved links also adds dimension and a touch of refinement to the bracelet.

Last but by no means the least, a model with a steel case and blue sunbrushed sandwich dial (PAM01179) completes the new Luminor Due Luna collection. To complement the bewitching blue dial, a polished blue alligator strap gives the watch a timeless monochrome style.
Further, should customers wish to switch up the look of their watches, the quick release system on the pieces with alligator straps (PAM01179/80/81) allows them to easily change the straps without the need for any tools. Pressure applied to the back of the strap releases it from the case, and it can be pushed back in just as effortlessly.

In addition to the alligator straps in various colours, Panerai also offers Luminor Due satin straps, which are leather straps with a satin-like texture and sheen, to expand the wear and possibilities of the Luminor Due Luna watches as well as the wider Luminor Due collection.
