To celebrate 75 years of the Omega Seamaster, the brand has unveiled a new collection of seven models—11 watches in total—dressed in Summer Blue to reflect their water resistance

The first Seamaster was born in 1948 to coincide with Omega’s 100th anniversary. Back then, the Swiss watch manufacture had already been producing watches for the pilots, navigators, and soldiers of Great Britain’s Ministry of Defence to support its Air Force and Navy pilots during World War II. This allowed Omega to progress quickly in the fields of water resistance, anti-magnetism, and robustness, creating watches that could withstand the harshest conditions.

Using this experience and know-how, Omega was able to launch Seamaster as a collection that combined battle-proven technology with an elegant exterior for a watch versatile enough for the “town, sea and country”. Over the years, the collection has expanded with new designs, innovative technologies, and even greater levels of water resistance.

On the 75th anniversary of the Seamaster this year, Omega is honouring this special milestone with not one, but 11 new watches spanning dressier models to more serious dive tech. All the timepieces boast a splash of Summer Blue to invoke the depth of the ocean and Omega’s prowess in water resistance and dive watches.

One of the standouts among the novelties is the Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer, made in stainless steel with a matching bracelet or blue rubber strap and a stunning dial depicting a colourful view of Earth. The incredible detail and texture of the blue ocean and relief of the continents was achieved through Omega’s laser technology on a grade 5 titanium plate. It is powered by Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8938 with a water resistance of up to 150 metres.

The are also two more new Aqua Terra models with symmetrical cases and crowns in stainless steel: a 38 mm edition powered by Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8800, with sailboat indexes and a polished and brushed bracelet formed of beautifully rounded links; and a 41 mm edition powered by Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8900, with matching bracelet or blue rubber strap.

For those that prefer a sportier and more conventional dive watch aesthetic, the Seamaster Diver 300M certainly checks the boxes with its distinctive diving scale, skeleton hands, bold raised indexes, and helium escape valve. It has a Summer Blue wave-pattern ceramic dial, varnished with a gradient finish to reflect its water resistance and is paired with a matching bracelet or blue rubber strap.

From here, the new Seamaster timepieces can go much deeper. The Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M powered by the Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8800 offers a 600-metre water resistance; the Seamaster Ploprof crafted in O-MegaSteel can withstand a depth of up to 1200 metres; and the Seamaster Planet Ocean is water-resistant to a whopping 6000 metres.
