An unusual dial colour and interesting dial finishes add desirability to these releases
Those who have been following Longines’ recent new releases will recall the series of Master watches that have been launched last year in celebration of the brand’s 190th anniversary.
Clean, simple and straightforward, this trio of commemorative timepieces are easy to love, with their classic styling and elegant design that make them a sensible yet still special addition to a basic watch collection.
This year, the Swiss watchmaker has expanded the collection based on the same styling, adding a little interest to the design with a small seconds feature and reinterpreting it in different dial colours.

Apart from that, this new model comes in three dial variations, including one in a bright salmon hue, which is guaranteed to be an attention-getter. The other two variants are in toned-down hues—classic silver in a sandblasted finish and anthracite in a grained finish that gives the dial a striking matte texture.
Breguet Arabic numerals, as hour markers, add classic appeal to the dial—these are engraved into the dial instead of being applied. The numbers are plated in rose gold on the anthracite model, creating a contrast that looks especially pleasing to the eye.

The small seconds subdial is the next distinctive feature that sets this new model apart from last year’s anniversary release. Other than that, it is also marginally smaller (with a case size of 38.5mm by 10.2mm) and thicker, compared with the latter (measuring 40mm by 9.35mm).

The watch is powered by the L893 calibre, visible through the transparent crystal on the caseback. This is a self-winding mechanical movement that features a silicon balance-spring and delivers a power reserve of up to 72 hours.
If you didn’t get your hands on last year’s anniversary Master pieces, the new small seconds models are just as attractive, if not more interesting options.
