IWC Schaffhausen will be sponsoring the fictional team APX GP in the new film based on F1 racing, co-produced by Lewis Hamilton and starring Brad Pitt
The world of F1 extends far beyond the race track with this upcoming feature film from Apple Originals, which IWC Schaffhausen has recently become a part of. The film was directed by Joseph Kosinski, co-produced by Lewis Hamilton and his production company, Dawn Apollo Films. The film will be released in global theatres on June 27, 2025.
IWC Schaffhausen has been involved in F1 since 2013. That year, they became the Official Engineering Partner of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One team. Lewis Hamilton also became a brand ambassador for IWC.

Now, the brand is setting its eyes on the big screen with this upcoming F1 film. “We are a brand with a long-standing connection to motorsport, so we could not miss out on the opportunity to become a part of this project,” said IWC Schaffhausen CEO Chris Grainger-Herr.

The film features Brad Pitt as a former F1 driver returning to racing. His team, APX GP, is sponsored by IWC. Their branding will be seen on the racing cars, the driver’s racing suits and gear, and throughout the APX GP team garage. Different characters will be wearing watches from the IWC Pilot collection. The watches include the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Top Gun in black zirconium oxide, the Big Pilot’s Watch 43 in stainless steel with a black dial, and the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 in stainless steel with a black dial.
