The architectural shape of the Laureato gets a scarlet facelift

Introduced in 1975, the Girard-Perregaux Laureato boasts one of the most recognisable designs with its octagonal bezel and integrated case and bracelet. Demonstrating its flair for material innovation, the new Laureato Light & Fire is adorned with a new polycrystalline material.

Dubbed YAG, it appears to be a fantastic alternative to the more commonly seen sapphire crystal, bearing the same translucent characteristic, and is equally hard and scratch-resistant. It also comes in a variety of dark shades; the maison's watchmakers settled on this deep red as it evokes energy, vitality, and prosperity.

Available from April 2023, it is powered by an automatic movement and paired with a black rubber strap with red stitchings.
