Entrepreneur Naddy Rahman personifies Franck Muller's beguiling new releases in black diamonds

Franck Muller is no ordinary watchmaker. From its Crazy Hours that jumble up the hour numerals to its tourbillon showstoppers, Franck Muller doesn't just make watches, it creates a spectacle on the wrist.

Its latest feminine offering, the Vanguard Rose Skeleton, is another prime example of this fact. Launched in 2021, the tonneau-shaped watch turns up the charm with its artistically rendered floral decorations on the dial, lending a graceful touch to the skeleton 1540 VS17 calibre with twin barrels that provide up to four days of power reserve.

This beguiling dichotomy of vigour and femininity, powerful yet elegant, has captivated modern women everywhere, including young entrepreneur Naddy Rahman. "I love the intricate design and the diamonds. Demure yet empowering and bold. It's one of the most beautiful watches I've ever seen," she exclaims.

Originally available with white diamonds set on white gold case, the latest collection is even more luxurious with brilliant-cut black diamonds. Showcasing the incredible craftsmanship of the Genthod manufacture, each stone has been treated in a very specific way before and after setting it in place to maximise its allure and sparkle. With a total of 422 diamonds, the result is nothing short of spectacular.

Naddy, 29, could have been the muse for the distinctive Vanguard Rose Skeleton. Stylish and independently minded, she has always followed her own heart and played by her own rules. Leaving a steady job in the legal profession to pursue her dreams, the mother-to-be and jewellery entrepreneur appreciates the freedom of being her own boss.

She credits her husband, racing driver Jazeman Jaafar, for pushing her out of her comfort zone. "He's an athlete so he taught me a lot about discipline and determination," she says, two qualities that also apply to the artisans responsible for the meticulous work on the Vanguard Rose Skeleton at Franck Muller.

There are four brilliant colourways to choose from—cherry red, mint green, crisp white and pastel pink—and embellished with, depending on the colours, gems like diamonds, rubies, and pink sapphires on the dial.
