The French jewellery house adds a new address at the vibrant Cheongdam-dong neighbourhood

The lively streets of Cheongdam-dong welcomes a new resident, Van Cleef & Arpels' boutique along the south bank of Hangang River.

The boutique boasts a wonderful play of contrasts, inside and out. The futuristic facade with diamond motifs recalling the brand's lozenge-shaped logo is softened with greenery in the back. Lightweight metallic allow juxtaposes with green ceramic and copper.

Then there is the elegant with soft furnishing and carpeting, which are balanced out by a garden designed by world-renowned architect Seo Ahn. This garden purportedly changes with the season.

Another fascinating aspect are the walls and ceiling that are decorated with hanji, a Korean hand-crafted paper unique for its refined textural effect.

Spanning five floors, the boutique evokes luxury and exclusivity, with private spaces for discreet viewing of the jewellery as well as an impressive library containing a wealth of information on the storied maison.
