The iconic Alhambra collection welcomes five new jewellery creations adorned with a sunburst pattern in guilloché white gold
What brings you luck? For many jewellery lovers, it could be a particular gemstone, or a certain symbol or shape that they choose to wear and carry around with them. Of these, one of the most treasured and iconic tokens of luck today is the four-leaf clover-inspired Van Cleef & Arpels’ Alhambra jewellery collection.
First introduced in 1968, Alhambra has established itself not only as a symbol of luck but also as a timeless favourite with its distinctive beaded silhouette offered in an array of the finest materials. The four-leaf clover is also significant to the maison and its history, as Jacques Arpels, Estelle Arpels’ nephew, would often pick four-leaf clovers in his back yard, offering them to his employees as good luck charms.
Over the years, some of the innovative Alhambra creations have featured rare and precious materials such as agate, diamonds, malachite, onyx, mother of pearl and more. Now, Van Cleef & Arpels is continuing to expand the collection with five new white gold creations featuring a stunning guilloché sunburst pattern.

The traditional guilloché technique was first adopted by the maison in the 1910s as a way to decorate watch dials before being used alongside gemstones to adorn boxes, powder cases and Minaudières later on in the 1930s.
When designed with a sunburst pattern on white gold, the guillochéd streaks add an alluring lustre to the new white gold Alhambra creations. These novelties include a long necklace, a bracelet, a pendant, a ring as well as a pair of earrings—all featuring the same sunbeam-like streaks in white gold with a beaded contour and central bead to be easily mixed and matched.
