Fine jewellery brand Annoushka opens a boutique in Ocean Centre and launches its very first bridal collection

Annoushka Ducas believes that jewellery should be like relationships: versatile yet enduring, and something that evolves with time. On her wedding day she wore jewellery she designed herself, and even created her own engagement ring, which she still adores 31 years later.

Inspired by her desire to create jewellery that can be worn seamlessly alongside existing pieces, as well as her long-term love of precious gems, Ducas has unveiled her first bridal collection for her eponymous brand.

Titled Love & Commitment, this collection combines colourful stones, gold and diamonds to mimic the lively qualities of flowers like those in her own garden. Her engagement rings include solitaire, three stone and five stone designs, all crafted in 18-karat white or yellow gold.

Ducas also created bolder rings with colourful stones, that come with the option of ring jackets that can be worn as a wedding band or added as a milestone gift. The choice of these stones is not without meaning. Morganite, for example, represents promise while tourmaline is said to bring peace.

These wedding rings can be worn alone or layered with others, and crafted from recycled 18-karat white or yellow gold, and a small but significant ruby set inside the band symbolises the myth that a vein runs from your heart to your ring finger.

This collection can be purchased at the newest Annoushka boutique in Ocean Centre, which opened earlier this month.

“After such a tough two years, it is very exciting to be opening our first shop on Kowloon side in Ocean Centre,” said Ducas. “It is five years since we first opened in Hong Kong, one of my favourite places in the world, and a place that I called home for three fabulous years.”

For the opening, Ducas brought art deco elements from her shop in IFC to her new Kowloon space, opting for a feminine and romantic interior design that is representative of her pieces.

Ducas’s work has been recognised by royalty and one of her signature pieces, the Classic Baroque Pearl earring drop, is a favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton. She was also awarded Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) by Queen Elizabeth II for her service to the British jewellery industry in 2012.
