JMA Jewelry crafts custom jewellery that reflect your journeys, milestones and personal stories
Recall the first time you received a piece of jewellery—it was likely on your birthday, a graduation, an engagement or some other passing milestone. They are a persistent presence, often gifted and worn to commemorate a momentous occasion. JMA Jewelry celebrates these rare instances with bespoke pieces, crafted to suit the client’s sense of style, preference and most importantly, story. Designed to be passed down, the house’s pieces are meant to carry a part of its wearer.
Founded in the late Nineties, JMA Jewelry was founded by Jesusa Malig Ayson, who lends her initials to the brand’s name. Affectionately called Suzette by friends, family and clients, she expanded the business into a design-led atelier, built upon certified gemstones and intimate client relationships.

Today, JMA continues to be family-led, growing alongside client families they’ve known for generations. “Operationally, we’ve evolved, embracing modern technology, refined processes and industry advancements that allow us to work with greater precision and efficiency,” head of operations Steph Ayson-Ong explains. “What will never change is our heart: our commitment to producing exceptional, thoughtfully created designs our clients are proud to wear.”

It is with this client-centric approach that the brand leans on for their creative direction. “It is an open, collaborative dialogue,” head of operations Steph Ayson-Ong explains. “Rather than focusing solely on a gemstone or diamond, we take time to understand the client’s personal style, everyday routine and personality.” The result are pieces that are truly unique to each individual—no two are alike, a fact that the house takes pride in. For three decades, they have adapted to the evolving styles and sensibilities of their clients, who have continued to place their trust in their talented hands.
The trust that they have established is thanks in no small part to their master craftsmen, many of whom have been with the brand for over 20 years. Guided by Suzette’s seasoned creative eye and Ayson-Ong’s contemporary approach to aesthetics, each creation is imbued with a certain warmth and human element that cannot be replicated by cutting machines.

This is embodied by one of their most recent creations, a pair of spiral vine baroque pearl earrings. Like its namesake, the fauna appears to crawl and curve with fruiting pearls sprouting from its flowers. “The vine motif symbolises personal evolution, growing through challenges to emerge stronger, bolder and more self-assured,” Suzette avers. “I’ve always had a special affinity for baroque pearls; their distinct, irregular pearls mirror the beauty of an unconventional journey. A notable challenge to overcome was its unusual length, which would make it rather difficult to structurally fit. “We worked closely with our master plateros to balance the weight distribution and post placement, ensuring that despite the volume and drop, the piece sits upright and flush against the ear without tilting or straining.”
But beyond the aesthetic beauty and artistry behind each of the atelier’s pieces, Suzette stresses that they are heirlooms, intended to be passed down. “We hold a deep reverence for that emotional lineage, which is why a significant part of our craft involves repurposing inherited heirlooms,” Suzette explains. They often work with clients to reimagine existing pieces held by the family, transforming those existing stones and precious metals into a fresher contemporary design. “This allows a cherished family legacy to be reborn and worn with renewed pride,” she smiles.

They have carefully nurtured their relationship with their clients, resulting in the unshakeable trust and confidence that they place in the atelier’s creative vision and craftsmanship. Each bespoke piece they create is a new chapter in their clients’ lives, one that is set in precious stone.
