Inspired by the elegance of the Kelly bag, the French house’s new jewellery collection is an ode to style
It’s been almost 90 years since the invention of the Hermès Kelly, and in that time, it has become an unshakeable icon in the world of style. This year, the French luxury brand pays tribute to the elegant bag with its Kellymorphose jewellery collection, an irreverent interpretation by Pierre Hardy, creative director of jewellery at Hermès.
“The Kelly bag elevates its functional components: the side straps and an elemental clasp consisting of a turnlock, a plate and four studs. I do the same with Kelly jewellery, by reinterpreting or disrupting its original lines,” Hardy explained in a press statement.

Drawing on the design elements of the Kelly—namely its side straps, clasp, padlock, and key-holder—Hardy has turned them into a playful collection. Think: sautoirs embellished with miniature versions of the bag, chokers, bracelets, whimsical double rings, earrings and cuffs that echo the classic sensibility of the bag, while evoking a modern aesthetic that is all its own.
Materials used to make the collection include persious metals such as rose gold, white gold, and solid silver, and gems like black spinels and baguette-cut diamonds that enhance the design of the jewellery and create a deliciously contemporary collection that jewellery collectors and fans of the Kelly bag alike will adore.
