The latest pieces take inspiration from the renovation of the brand’s hôtel particulier and 20 years of the concept of the abstract rose, in itself inspired by Christian Dior’s love of the flower

The total renovation of Dior’s headquarters at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris inspired artistic director Victoire de Castellane to imagine the brand’s newest high jewellery collection, Dior Rose. This building has seen the addition of a gallery to exhibit their stunning jewels, creating a new space called Planet Dior, as well as a rooftop garden.

The brand has long used the rose motif, inspired by Christian Dior’s love of the flower, and the new collection contains a total of 116 pieces which “bloom” through four floral-inspired designs: romantic rose, stained-glass rose, futuristic rose and abstract couture rose.

The romantic rose parure, composed of a necklace, bracelet, earrings and ring, features blue sapphires from Myanmar set at an angle, surrounded by budding pink sapphires and emerald-cut diamonds.

Much like stained glass windows, the stained glass rose items celebrate the transparency of gems including Mozambique rubies and Colombian emeralds, framing them with delicately curved or pointed petals, and rubellite leaves.

The futuristic rose pieces see a pixelated explosion of contemporary stones such as fiery opals, pink spinel, and tsavorite garnets with off-centre settings and graphic petals.

While the abstract rose collection steps away from traditional design, couture is still at the forefront. It explores asymmetry with different setting heights, kite-cut diamonds and irregular clusters of stones like emeralds, rubies, pink sapphires and diamonds.
