Cover Tatler Philippines and Bvlgari at an intimate gathering to appreciate the latest selections from the Serpenti collection

Alluring, magnetic, enduring—Bvlgari’s Serpenti collection is known by many qualities, all of which are apparent

Marked by precious scales, gilded curves and the dreamlike glint of gold, Blvgari's Serpenti collection have always been utmost symbols of femininity and grace. Across necklaces, bands and watches, they are one of the brand's most enduring motifs, as well as sophisticated companions for discerning women. The Italian house and Tatler Philippines have come together for an evening of elegance to celebrate the latest pieces to join this magnetic series.

The Bvlgari boutique at Greenbelt 3 was alight with the warm colours of spring. Outside stood a House Fleur pop-up, where our guests could acquire elegantly handmade bouquets of roses, stargazer lillies and hydrangeas, among others. Inside, heady drinks and scrumptious canapés by Chele Catering were served as they perused the collection.

Our graceful host, Yanah Laurel Siguion-Reyna, formally began the programme to discuss the heritage and characteristics with which Serpenti is so renowned. Shortly after, Bvlgari Philippines commercial manager Karine Le Lay was invited to the fore to give her opening remarks. “We hope you enjoy this fantastic collection and enjoy this evening full of surprises,” she enthused.

In light of the new pieces within Serpenti, four women shared their thoughts surrounding the significance of jewellery in their lives, as well as which pieces from the collection caught their eye.

“Jewellery is timeless and it is forever,” Mia Borromeo recounts. “Even gifts I received from my parents and grandparents through the years…are still precious to me. Whenever I wear those pieces, it brings back happy memories.” Many of these pieces, including earrings from her mother, are still part of her wardrobe to this day.

Meanwhile, Julie Boschi shares how jewellery are “witnesses” to the seasons of one’s life—which is one of the reasons why she prefers to select a piece for herself, rather than being gifted one. Still, being able to inherit and pass down jewellery remains important: it was a Serpenti choker that caught her eye, not just for herself, but for her daughter.

In terms of styling, Tina Cuevas is already aware of what looks good on her, so she knows what to gravitate towards. “I choose pieces that make me shine. That’s very important,” she emphasises. As it happens, Bvlgari has long been part of her ensemble. “12 years ago, I bought a Serpenti, and I’m very happy with it.”

Inheritance remains a strong point of consideration for Carry Goricetta. Whenever she is out searching for a new piece, she has her daughter in mind. “That’s why I think I gravitate toward the classics. I feel like…beyond the years, they’ll still be really appreciated.”
