From sheer Blumarine ruffles to sculptural Louis Vuitton leather, Anne Hathaway used structured tailoring—not oversized layers—to confidently celebrate her third pregnancy across the global press tour for ‘The Odyssey’

Over two decades, Anne Hathaway has built one of Hollywood’s most consistently compelling style evolutions, moving from fresh-faced ingénue to Oscar winner and enduring fashion favourite. Now, while promoting Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, in which she plays Penelope, the long-waiting Queen of Ithaca, she is rewriting another rulebook: how a pregnant woman is expected to dress in public.

Announcing her third pregnancy just as the tour began, Hathaway and stylist Erin Walsh sidestepped the oversized, camouflaging silhouettes long associated with maternity red-carpet dressing. Instead, they embraced structure—peplum ruffles, empire waistlines and sculptural bodices that framed, rather than concealed, her changing shape. Here is how each stop on The Odyssey tour became a lesson in confident maternity dressing.

Battling a New York heatwave during press day, Anne Hathaway proved maternity dressing could stay breathable without losing drama. A sheer, ruffle-collared red top from Ashlyn, cut with a subtle peplum, paired with wide-leg trousers from La Ligne for a fluid, monochromatic finish. Red kitten-heel sandals from Vivaia offered comfort-first footwear, while tortoiseshell Krewe sunglasses and gold Bulgari jewellery kept the polish. Relaxed, centre-parted waves and a fresh, nude-pink lip rounded out the tour’s most wearable red-carpet lesson.

For a New York appearance, Anne Hathaway chose a strapless column gown by Lela Rose in heavy, marigold-yellow velvet with a shadowy burnout floral print. The dense fabric did the structural work itself, skimming her silhouette into a clean, elongating line. Stylist Erin Walsh paired it with metallic gold Gianvito Rossi sandals, tortoiseshell Krewe sunglasses and a stack of gold Bulgari jewellery. A high-gloss blowout and warm, golden make-up completed a look that proved daytime maternity dressing could still feel opulent.

For the London photocall, Anne Hathaway ditched the traditional maternity midi in favour of a thigh-skimming mini from David Koma’s debut Resort 2027 collection for Blumarine. Its sheer, layered white georgette and cascading ruffles moved with the wind, while an off-the-shoulder halter neckline kept the mood relaxed. Walsh grounded the airy silhouette with slouchy suede over-the-knee boots by Gianvito Rossi and a vintage heart-shaped Chanel bag. Windswept waves by Orlando Pita and a dewy, nude-toned make-up by Hung Vanngo completed a look built for comfort, not concealment.

At the London premiere of The Odyssey, Anne Hathaway wore the first gown designed by Jonathan Anderson for Dior—a cornflower-blue creation engineered like a blooming flower. A sculpted, petal-like bodice, anchored by a central brooch, gave way at an empire waistline to a fluid, plissé-pleated skirt that skimmed her bump. The powder-blue shade nodded to the Aegean Sea of Penelope’s 20-year wait. Geometric Bulgari drop earrings kept the focus on the architecture, while sleek, straight hair and a bold crimson lip added graphic contrast.

In Paris, Nicolas Ghesquière dressed Anne Hathaway in a custom Louis Vuitton gown inspired by the house’s autumn/winter 2026 collection. An armour-like, chocolate-brown calfskin bodice with a ruffled leather neckline framed her shoulders like a breastplate, referencing Penelope’s steely resolve. At a high empire waist, the structure gave way to a soft, plissé silk skirt that draped over her bump. A Bulgari gold collar set with pavé diamonds and a central amethyst, plus tousled waves and a copper-toned smoky eye, finished the look.

Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Anne Hathaway wore a custom GapStudio design by Zac Posen in fluid ivory charmeuse. A sleeveless scoop-neck top with an asymmetrical peplum hem skimmed her bump, flowing into a bias-cut satin skirt that pooled at her feet. Clear Aquazzura stilettos kept the styling barefoot-minimal, while Bulgari Serpenti Viper earrings added polish. Her voluminous, curled blowout and smoky blush noir make-up were praised as the tour’s clearest expression of pregnancy glow.

At the New York premiere of The Odyssey, custom Prada delivered the tour’s most Grecian-goddess moment. Hand-embroidered crystals formed a rigid, criss-cross silver halter, contrasting with a soft, empire-waisted ivory silk skirt that pooled dramatically as she walked. Prada’s intricate embroidery became the focal point of the ensemble, with the sparkle carried through to her Bulgari fine jewellery. A sleek, low updo and a demi-matte, rosewood-lipped make-up look kept the beauty styling classic, letting Anne Hathaway’s pregnancy glow lead the frame.
