A unique digital experience awaits visitors who are looking to learn more about Artemis Rings’ Regalia High Jewellery Collection, and the ultra-rare diamonds that anchors each piece

Jewellery must be admired in person, because there simply is no substitute for appreciating a piece’s design, craftsmanship and materials this way. This is especially so for high jewellery, which often feature more complex designs and exceptional gemstones of great rarity. Alas, there is a practical limit to doing so. It is simply impossible to present a piece of work—however stunning—to everyone who wishes to see it up close and personal.

Local jeweller Artemis Rings has circumvented this constraint with an all-new digital experience tailored around its Regalia High Jewellery Collection. By leveraging on the best aspects of digitisation, Artemis Rings has developed a platform that offers a close approximation of a live showing of these high jewellery pieces. The experience goes beyond just showing these one-of-a-kind works though. Instead, it also extends to an exploration of the rare coloured diamonds that anchor the creations, as well as the now-defunct Argyle Diamond Mine where they came from. The result is a comprehensive account of both the three-piece Regalia High Jewellery Collection and the legacy it represents.

Created in collaboration with Australia-based HSL Property Investments, the Regalia High Jewellery Collection was designed by Artemis Rings’ founder Sandra Chew, then crafted in-house by the brand’s artisans. The line comprises three pièces uniques: the headliner Argyle Alora, which transforms from a ring to a pendant that’s worn on an accompanying necklace; the delightfully dimensional Argyle Bellatrix, which similarly sports two guises as either a ring or a necklace; and the stately Blue Astral Ring, which offers a bold, architectural form in a cold blue-on-white colourway.

Each creation in the collection was designed around a coloured diamond from the Argyle Diamond Mine. For a start, the Argyle Alora and Argyle Bellatrix feature GIA fancy vivid purplish pink diamonds that are exceedingly rare. To put things in perspective, the Argyle Diamond Mine supplied over 90 per cent of the world’s pink diamonds when it was in operation, but less than one per cent of its annual output—barely a champagne flute’s worth—were diamonds of this colour.

In the same vein, the GIA fancy vivid blue diamond at the centre of the Blue Astral Ring is an extraordinary specimen owing to its colour grade, which makes up less than one per cent of all blue diamonds. Because of the diamond at the heart of each piece in the Regalia High Jewellery Collection, these creations have a duality: they can be admired as intricate works of high jewellery, but also appreciated as investment grade diamonds that represent an alternative asset class.

On another level, the digital experience will also offer insights into the Regalia High Jewellery Collection’s designs to, effectively, spotlight Singapore’s expertise in the field of haute joaillerie. From how the Argyle Bellatrix tiered structure creates volume and depth, to the Blue Astral Ring’s hidden engraving, which marks the next blue moon, there are details aplenty. They speak to a mature yet playful design language that offers yet another glimpse of what Singaporean designers (and artisans) are capable of.
