If you live in Apple’s ecosystem, the 13-inch MacBook Pro should be a no brainer if you are looking for something lightweight and powerful. Last year, Apple made a big move by introducing its own processor called the M1 chip.

Using its knowledge from making chips for its iPhone and iPad, the Cupertino company is applying the same techniques to make a chip that is widely acclaimed for its solid performance and great battery life, which Apple claims is up to 20 hours. This variant can be configured with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage.

Besides the specs above, you get all the usual things you have come to expect from a MacBook including a Backlit Magic keyboard, Touch Bar, Touch ID and Force Touch trackpad.

Another great slim and lightweight laptop is the latest Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon. It may not be the lightest of the bunch but it has a 13.3-inch screen that outputs an amazingly detailed QHD resolution. The screen stretches nearly edge-to-edge giving you a full view of your content.

True to its namesake, the laptop has layers of carbon fibre on the cover and Lenovo claims it has military-grade durability for surviving extreme temperatures, humidity and drops up to 1.2m from every corner.

On the inside, you will find that it can be configured up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i7, up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. It also comes with Intel Iris Xe graphics. When it comes to battery life, Lenovo says it can last up to 15 hours. That should be enough to get through a typical work day. What's more, a quick 15 minute charge should be enough for the laptop to last up to two hours.
