Fendace is the embodiment of Fendi and Versace's friendship and love, as captured by their new capsule collection

For quite some time, an open secret in the fashion industry about two luxury fashion houses has left many sparked with anticipation. Because for the first time ever in the history of fashion, two designers have come together to have a creative dialogue—one that will be remembered for generations.

But the wait is over. Last May 12, 2022, the two maisons finally launched the collection through a series of global pop-ups and events.

Fashion, friendship, and fun: this is what the new capsule collection by luxury fashion houses Fendi and Versace possesses.

It is an exchange of roles rather than a collaboration, wherein Artistic Director of Fendi Couture and Womenswear Kim Jones and designer Silvia Venturini Fendi reinterpret Versace pieces while Versace Chief Creative Officer Donatella Versace reshapes Fendi creations.

"[I]t is done out of friendship," shares Jones. "It is the beauty of togetherness after time apart and a celebration of women who have inspired me so much."

Versace relates, "The campaign captures the same sense of friendship and fun I had when working on this project with Kim, Silvia and the team at Fendi. To me, Fendace will always mean love."

Shot by renowned filmmaker Alex Maxwell, the campaign video shows supermodels Adut Akech, Amar Akway, Anja Rubik, Anok Yai, Imaan Hammam, and Lina Zang entering the Fendace nightclub in gorgeous ensembles after uttering the password: Fendace. The fearsome yet fabulous bouncers on the door are none other than Naomi Campbell and Kristen McMenamy.

The pieces are loud, bright, and emotive—matching the gem-studded accessories and jewellery which combine Fendi and Versace brand codes.

There are also unique designs such as the Fendace Peekaboo and Baguette (a combination of Fendi bags silhouettes with Versace's codes) and the Fendace La Medusa handbag (Versace's Medusa get the Fendi FF logo).

The capsule is divided through Fendi and Versace; Fendi will be presenting the Versace by Fendi while Fendi by Versace will be made available at Versace.
