Tricia Centenera and Nicole Hernandez-de Los Angeles reflect on their love for Ferragamo, style and the future of fashion

More than its function, fashion has always been a means of expression; dressing up as a means to showcase one’s personality and taste in a way that stands out while also being subtle. For some, a career in this field was something to fall naturally into. “It definitely wasn’t something I ‘set out’ to do,” reflects Tricia Centenera, host and media personality. “Looking at my work over the years, fashion and lifestyle have luckily been part of my natural growth and the way life flowed for me.”

While model and social media influencer Nicole Hernandez-de Los Angeles was always fascinated with fashion, it helped that her mother was already working in the field and exposed her to it when she was younger. “She had a children’s wear export business when I was growing up. Right after college, I enrolled at Parsons in New York and took up a course in fashion design.”

Centenera and Hernandez share the same ethos and infuse their own personality in looks, while staying on top of trends. “Maintaining any one personal voice all boils down to being true to yourself and valuing your own core beliefs,” shares Centenera. “This formula I try to apply to all aspects of life.” In getting inspiration, Hernandez also looks to social media to get a feel of what’s current. “When I produce content, it is based on a lot of the accounts I follow. I try to put together what I see and edit it in such a way that it’s fresh, fun, and current,” she says.

Herndandez enjoys mixing local brands with classics. “Ferragamo to me is a brand that is both timeless and elegant. A must-have in everyone’s closet,” says Hernandez. “I’m loving how their current designs play with refreshing colours and textures.”

“I personally love mixing feminine and masculine together... with just baggy jeans, Ferragamo ballet flats, and a loose white t-shirt, you are already set to go anywhere,” Centenera advises.

“I’m honestly looking forward to seeing how my style will evolve in the coming years,” says Herndandez. Centenera cites examples of how times have changed. “I love that fashion isn’t so ‘he or she’ these days. There’s a lot of gender-neutral acceptance now.” Centenera shares. “Fashion has definitely come a long way, and there is much to look forward to as it progresses.”

“I appreciate that Ferragamo has held onto their classic elegance and femininity, and have now incorporated more fashion-forward shapes,” introspects Centenera. “They know how to not be left in the past but stay true to their brand. And that you have to respect.”
