Fashion Aid Philippines held its preliminary panel screening last June 30 at Salcedo Auctions in Makati, for its latest initiative that celebrates and nurtures Filipino creativity through fashion, craftsmanship and design
Drawn from a national call that received hundreds of applications, a new breed of Filipino creative force emerges across fashion, accessories and object (lifestyle) design.
Applicants walked up to a panel of distinguished personalities from the creative industries last June 30 at Salcedo Auctions in Makati, all hoping to receive support and appreciation towards the incredible work that they have been doing. Visionaries from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao brought forward outstanding designs that impressed not only the panel but the First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos as well, who graced the screening as an esteemed guest of Fashion Aid Philippines.

Upon much deliberation, Top 20 finalists were selected to proceed to the next level of the competition. Comprised of emerging designers from diverse backgrounds and communities, the hopefuls reflected their exceptional creativity, potential and contributions to their respective disciplines.
The Top includes Rio Sandra Barrios, Kristina Leanne Basilio, Jeremiah (Jorem) Biadoma, Monica Castillo, Angela Marie Chavez, Joshua Mario Daryll Chiong, Elijah Contillo, Kheemberly Claire Coronel, Matthew David, Ivan Cedric Fabia, Jose Francisco Kintanar, Ayra Longsiab, John Jade Montecalvo, Marigrace Reano, Hazel Roldan, King Rosales, Gil Justin Salazar, Michelle Jane Tiu, Deya Tsyna and Joanah Villanueva.

The selected 20 finalists will now develop their design with the assistance of Fashion Aid Philippines members and some of the country’s top experts in design and creative fields. This next stage of the competition will allow the finalists to refine their existing products or create stronger pieces worthy of being part of the exhibition in September 2025, which the Fashion Aid Philippines is organising.

Fashion Aid Philippines aims to promote the cultural, social and economic consciousness of the public and to assist the new generation of Filipino creatives and its applied arts. The non-profit organisation seeks to infuse culture into art by engaging in worthwhile activities that will expand the Filipino artists’ knowledge in their field. The organisation hopes to instil the value of camaraderie and goodwill among its members and other associated groups through their participation in training seminars and symposiums on culture, design, artistry, and safety. Fashion Aid Philippines is determined to get involved in civic projects and voluntary work to accomplish its objectives.
The Grant by Fashion Aid Philippines continues to build a platform where Filipino creativity is celebrated and nurtured for a globally competitive design industry.
