In an intimate showcase, Tatler and Roger Vivier unveiled the maison’s latest collection, where timeless icons such as the Belle Vivier were joined by the newly introduced La Rose Vivier, alongside fresh interpretations of Efflorescence

There was a time when Roger Vivier was known simply as the “Fabergé of footwear”, the man who invented the stiletto and dressed the feet of queens, actresses, and icons. Nearly 90 years on, the maison continues to marry heritage with imagination. That spirit was on full display at an intimate presentation hosted by Tatler and Roger Vivier at the Roger Vivier Marina Bay Sands boutique, where the fall-winter 2025 collection was unveiled—spotlighting timeless icons like the Belle Vivier alongside new creations such as La Rose Vivier and the latest designs to join the existing Efflorescence line.

Laure Boukebza, Roger Vivier’s Sales & Merchandising Director for Southeast Asia Pacific, opened the evening with a few welcoming words. She spoke of the brand’s commitment to heritage, innovation, and emotional connection—a perfect introduction to what was to come.

Features Editor Nafeesa Saini then took the floor, guiding guests through the maison’s storied past. She reminded the audience that Roger Vivier first opened his boutique in 1937, earning acclaim for visionary designs that reshaped silhouettes, from bespoke creations for Christian Dior’s haute couture to cult icons like the Belle Vivier. Her personal anecodte—the memory of wearing fuchsia pumps on her wedding day—grounded this legacy in modern femininity.

The spotlight then shifted to creative director Gherardo Felloni’s vision for the season, with La Rose Vivier as its signature theme. Monsieur Vivier first explored the motif in the 1940s and 50s, even creating the Talon Épine, a stiletto accented with a pointed thorn. Felloni revisits that heritage with sculpted buds, twisted leather knots, and spiralling organza petals that bring the rose to life in striking new forms.

With flourishes such as organza petals, leather knots and delicate thorn details, the collection embodies the duality of beauty and edge. Highlights included the Rose Vivier Pumps and T-Strap Sandals, where subtle thorn motifs along heels, straps and edges lend a sharper character to feminine silhouettes. For daytime ease, the motif also appeared on ballerina flats.

Evening glamour came alive with Efflorescence, where antique jewellery inspiration met Swarovski sparkle. Felloni reimagined archival buckles as crystal bouquets, each bloom cut in varying sizes and set with high-jewellery precision to capture the play of light across real blossoms. Guests admired pumps in green satin with strass buckles, silver with pearl details, and black with sequins—each designed to dazzle after dark. Complementing the shoes were handcrafted minaudières: some adorned with freshwater pearls and realised through high-jewellery techniques, others—like the satin Jewel Efflorescence Mini Bag—finished with ribbon-rolled rose ruffles requiring 20 metres of individually stitched ribbon and accented by a gleaming crystal flower buckle.

On the more playful side, Très Vivier charms, embodying the maison’s icons and seasonal standouts, embellished Mary-Jane pumps, booties and loafers, offering a dash of whimsy.

Of course, the Belle Vivier anniversary offerings were a highlight: new silhouettes in Mary-Jane, slingback, and platform forms, strass and Pilgrim Buckle details, with crystals applied by hand. For everyday elegance, the Viv’ Low line offered quilted ballerina/sneaker hybrids—balancing comfort with the Roger Vivier signature style.

As the formal presentation wound down, guests mingled over champagne, mocktails, and admiration of the collection—each piece prompting conversations around colour, texture, and timeless design. Many stopped by the display to try on the shoes, bags and accessories, appreciating the craftsmanship in person.

By the end of the evening, the message was clear: Roger Vivier continues to weave its legacy—heritage, innovation, and artistry—into designs that feel both nostalgic and fresh. For those who attended, the fall-winter 25 collection was not just a presentation; it was an invitation to carry that spirit forward.
