To mark the 10th anniversary of its cult-status Puzzle bag, Loewe unveils Puzzle 10—a limited-edition collection of exquisitely crafted pieces that blur the line between art and fashion. From poetic embroidery to the sequinned splendour of the new Confetti Puzzle, these bags celebrate a decade of design, daring, and craft. Here are our favourites
When Loewe introduced the Puzzle bag in 2014, it didn’t just launch a new It-bag—it rewrote the rules of modern leather craft. A cubist, origami-inspired marvel dreamed up by design wünderkind Jonathan Anderson, it redefined what a luxury bag could be: sculptural, soft, clever, and endlessly inventive.
Now, ten years on, Loewe honours its icon with Puzzle 10—a limited-edition collection of 20 bags, each one a wearable work of art. Nineteen are beloved re-editions drawn from the past decade; culminating with its jubilant newcomer: the Confetti Puzzle, a riot of leather and metal sequins that feels like Studio 54 collided with Spanish surrealism.
Each piece is finished with a commemorative plaque and Loewe’s signature balloon charms, and presented in a bespoke gold-foiled box containing a collectible jigsaw puzzle. This is Loewe at its best—elevating craft to culture, and design to storytelling.

From painterly motifs and stitched poetry to leather marquetry and cross-stitch, the Puzzle 10 collection reads like a love letter to the house’s artistic soul. It is fitting, then, that the bags will be showcased not only at Bergdorf Goodman and Harrods, but also in contemporary art spaces across Beijing and Taipei—reaffirming Loewe’s position at the intersection of fashion and the avant-garde.
Naturally, we at Tatler have our favourites. Ten of them, to be precise.
Because this anniversary is not just about revisiting a classic. The Puzzle 10 proves, once again, that the bag is more than just an accessory—it is a symbol of radical creativity, quiet subversion, and the beauty of a well-folded idea: artistic, architectural, and always just a little bit cheeky.
1. A/W 2015 Runway Re-Edition

The Puzzle bag made its women’s runway debut at the Autumn/Winter 2015 show in Paris’s Unesco House, evolving from its original men’s version to a fully realised icon. Here, it returns in lush camaieu suede, arranged in a spectrum of pink—from bold fuchsia to the softest coral—anchored by a black base and trim. The gradation of colour accentuates the bag’s cubist geometry, reflecting the multifaceted identity of the Loewe woman as the house entered a new creative era.
2. Multicolour Re-edition

Bold and bright, this re-edition draws from the Spring/Summer 2017 women’s pre-collection. Patchworked in saturated primary tones—red, yellow, blue—with flashes of orange and purple, it’s an exuberant nod to Pop Art and Spanish vibrancy. A black leather base and trim ground the composition, while the vivid palette channels Loewe’s spirit of play and optimism.
3. Cloud Re-edition

A dreamy highlight from Spring/Summer 2017, the Cloud Puzzle bag floats into surrealist territory. Printed with drifting white clouds across soft calfskin, its seamless design mimics painted skies. Inspired by Steven Meisel’s cloud-filled campaign imagery, this bag taps into the house’s love of surrealism and the unexpected—equal parts lightness and illusion.
4. Willliam Morris Re-edition

An ode to the radical craftsmanship of William Morris, this Puzzle re-edition juxtaposes delicate strawberry flowers and a painted hare with punkish accents: silver eyelets, a studded shoulder flap, and a biker-belt trim. A collision of 19th-century idealism and streetwise rebellion, it’s a bag that captures Loewe’s respect for the handmade—with a healthy dose of irreverence.
5. Varsity Re-edition

Sporty meets subversive in this tongue-in-cheek Puzzle from FW18. Inspired by Loewe’s curly-toed sneakers, it riffs on the classic varsity shoe: emerald green suede, sneaker-style stitching, and oversized laces threaded across the front panels. Finished with a varsity “L” patch, it’s a witty, wearable homage to American collegiate cool.

6. Polka Re-edition

From the FW18 women’s collection, this design turns polka dots into poetic punctuation. Using precise intarsia, rounded dots dance across the Puzzle’s angular structure in a nod to romantic dressing and 19th-century novels—Madame Bovary and Wuthering Heights among them. A study in soft rebellion, it’s playful, polished, and full of narrative flair.
7. William De Morgan Re-edition

This Spring/Summer 2020 pre-collection standout is adorned with a dandelion motif inspired by 19th-century ceramicist William De Morgan. Embroidered leather nods to his ornate, nature-inspired tiles, while Loewe’s own artisanal heritage brings the motif to life—fusing old-world technique with modern sensibility.
8. Tartan Re-edition

Textile tradition meets innovation in this Autumn/Winter 2020 design, which wraps the Puzzle in pliable Scottish jacquard wool. Mixed plaids in jewel tones—red, yellow, khaki, navy—clash beautifully across panels trimmed in leather. With a sleek tan handle and gold Anagram, it balances eclecticism with elegance.
9. Paula’s Ibiza Kiwi Re-edition

A burst of tropical whimsy from Paula’s Ibiza 2021, this bag transforms the humble kiwi into graphic art. Skived leather panels layered in zesty greens are peppered with stylised pips, forming a surrealist fruit motif. Joyful, irreverent, and sun-drenched, it captures the free-spirited fantasy of a Balearic summer.
10. Confetti

The crown jewel of the Puzzle 10 collection, this jubilant edition is a party in a bag. Inspired by Lara Favaretto’s Midsommar installation at the FW23 show, it replaces paper confetti with hand-applied leather and laminated sequins in sherbet hues — pastel pinks, aquas, silvers, fuchsias—set against midnight blue leather. A riot of texture and joy, it’s pure celebratory magic.
