Cover It was an evening of glitz, glam and gowns galore at enVie de Pois

Red carpet-worthy gowns? Check. Statement accessories? Check. In keeping with this year's Tatler Ball theme, enVie de Pois is just the place to Make Your Mark

How does one make your mark at the social event of the season? That was the question on everyone’s minds since the much-anticipated reveal of this year’s Tatler Ball theme.

Think impactful. Think statement-making. Think show-stopping. When it comes to leaving a lasting sartorial legacy, there’s no better place to start than at enVie de Pois.

Last Friday evening, Tatler Singapore hosted an intimate gathering at the multi-label designer boutique in Ion Orchard. The agenda? To unveil enVie de Pois’ latest collection of red carpet-ready gowns to a select few of our community members and society swans. With less than a month to the Tatler Ball, the showcase certainly came at the right time–and at the perfect location. enVie de Pois carries an impressive catalogue of fashion heavyweights such as Elie Saab, Carolina Herrera, Zuhair Murad, and many more.

In attendance was Tatler Singapore’s managing director Stephanie Tay, who opened the session and welcomed guests to the evening’s festivities. Our branded content editor and resident fashion expert, Adriel Chiun, then took over for the highlight of the event: a fashion showcase. Just for the event, Chiun curated a selection of six stunning looks–each one of them more dazzling than the one before as models strutted around the boutique to the 'oohs' and 'ahhs' of the guests.

Kicking things off on a stylish note were two opening looks that embodied playful sophistication: a monochromatic number topped with a scalloped cape by Isabel Sanchis, followed by an off-shoulder ruffle gown. “It’s not necessarily always about bold colours,” Chiun pointed out. “Even in black and white, you can still create a dramatic moment by playing with textures and silhouettes.”

Of course, the foolproof way to make your mark is with bright hues–and there were plenty of those presented during the fashion showcase. Amongst the standout looks was an Alexandre Vauthier yellow crystal embellished gown and a flowy Maria Lucia Hohan number in bright coral red.

The most noteworthy look of the evening was arguably a dazzling gold sequinned suit by acclaimed Australian designer, Alex Perry. Featuring an immaculately-cut tuxedo jacket with a matching floor-length skirt, the outfit certainly caught the attention of all the guests. Chiun accessorised the suit with a plush fur stole to elevate the look and add a touch of glamour. He explained: “It’s very unexpectedly chic–this mix of masculine and feminine. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different textures and contrast the hardness of sequins with the soft, tactile nature of fur.”

Speaking of accessories, Chiun also presented some of enVie de Pois’ bejewelled minaudières, feathered clutches, statement necklaces, and vintage brooches from the 1920s. “When it comes to throwing out the rules of conformity, enVie de Pois really is the perfect place to be because it is a veritable candy shop.”

Following the fashion showcase, the invited ladies had the opportunity to browse enVie de Pois’ extensive collection and try out some gowns they had their eye on. The event carried on until the later hours of the evening as upbeat tunes played from a Devialet Phantom 108db gold speaker, while guests were treated to champagne and a delicious selection of canapés.
