For Asia’s Most Stylish 2024 honouree Sarah Lahbati, style is about more than meets the eye

For Sarah Lahbati, personal style is not just about what you wear, it’s a reflection of one’s values and identity, where practicality meets aesthetic. The actor has proven that she is more than just a pretty face—she’s driven and dynamic, with a handful of critically acclaimed roles under her belt, not to mention her busy life as a single mother. She describes her style as “a blend of classic elegance and sophistication with a touch of fun and functionality.” It’s an approach that mirrors the way she lives her life, rooted in both her love for couture and her life as a mother constantly on the go.

Her style has transformed over the years, especially since becoming a mother. For her, fashion has never really been about appearance; it’s about empowerment. With every piece of clothing, there is an intention behind the look—past the brand or logo. “It’s important for me to dress in a way that makes me feel good without focusing solely on superficiality,” she says.

While Lahbati favours practical clothing that accommodate her active lifestyle, she isn’t afraid to embrace her bold side. She supports local designers, wearing pieces like a Chynna Mamawal lace bodysuit at the Asia’s Most Stylish 2024 event. During a recent trip to Paris, she opted for a black corseted outfit by Jude Macasinag, and she’s often seen in creations by Boom Sason, including a two-piece dress she wore while visiting Saint-Tropez.

Over the past two years, Lahbati’s career has soared to new heights. She starred in various television projects such as Magandang Dilad and The Iron Heart, and even went on to make headlines at Paris Fashion Week. Her glamorous lifestyle hasn't been without its hurdles. She endured one of the most challenging times of her life but found strength in starting anew.

“Starting from scratch with a new sense of both hope and fear gave me inspiration to follow my dreams,” she reveals. This renewal ignited her passion across various fields—whether in acting, fashion, or as a brand ambassador—all while balancing the demands of motherhood. “I’m currently filming a TV series, working with different brands, and juggling it all,” she says.

She considers this journey of juggling multiple roles as deeply fulfilling, despite the challenges. “Being able to do what I love while being a mom is the most gratifying feeling,” she reflects. Through these varying phases of her life, her work ethic has remained steadfast.

Looking ahead, Lahbati is filled with optimism, as she plans to continue with her work while prioritising moments of self-care through travel with family and friends. “My motivation stems from my children, my family, and the aspirations I strive to transform into reality,” she explains.
