From a sunny poolside hangout to a special styling session, see what went down at this exciting fashion event
On May 5, 2023, Tatler invited some of the most stylish members of our community to discover Ralph Lauren's Spring 2023 collection.
Hosted at the Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur, the event was carefully planned and curated to give our guests the ultimate California experience, keeping in line with Ralph Lauren's inspiration behind this coveted collection: "For the first time, I bring my dream of living to California, celebrating a way of life that I have always believed in—a mix of grit and glamour, energy and inspiration."
Guests arrived to the Banyan Tree Suite, where they were greeted by Denise Phua, a representative from Ralph Lauren. Inside, the collection was on full display against the backdrop of our city's iconic skyline, punctuated by the Twin Towers and KL Tower.

To begin, renowned fashion stylist Andrea Kee gave a captivating presentation of the key pieces of Ralph Lauren's collection, including the new RL Handbag design with iconic 'RL' stacked palladium hardware and bold iterations of signature silhouettes, such as flowing skirts cut from bright silk taffeta and hand-stitched with authentic nautical detailing as well as wrap dresses featuring the painted Danyelle print inspired by the stunning scenery of an oceanside Italian village.
She also provided her styling expertise to fully embody the true elegance of California coastal living. With models to help showcase the versatility of the collection, she shared her recommendations on the best way to put together the most striking outfit according to their preferences, whether our guests enjoy bright, tropical fits or more muted ensembles to go with the rising 'quiet luxury' trend.
After the session, guests were encouraged to get up close and personal to appreciate the incredible craftmanship that Ralph Lauren garments are known for, from mother-of-pearl buttons to intricate tailoring, and even try on the clothes themselves.
Our guests were then ushered to the 53rd floor for a sunny poolside hang, where they were treated to an afternoon tea with free-flowing champagne and mocktails. Taken over by Ralph Lauren, the pool area was surrounded by lounge chairs decked out in elegant blue and white, an elaborate tropical construction for the best photo opportunity and an ice cream stand serving refreshing sorbets and ice creams.
